A FANTASTIC DISCUSSION

I'm not so concerned with picking a side & feeling emotionally connected to it, i'm on team humanity & team balance, my philosophy continues to be "whatever works". That said, I found this conversation to be fantastic between two talkers that I listen to frequently.

I also really liked that he brought up family separation with incarceration & foster care (and the conspicuous lack of liberal outrage about it) -- something I've pointed out a lot in the past couple of years.

I was definitely struck by his willingness to not double-down when he got legitimately challenged -- I respect that genuine commitment to honest discourse.

I feel like Glenn Lowry has a ways to go, but I can see that he has that ability to change in a way that a lot of conservative don't.

Thanks for sharing this discussion, man!

Wish I could sum up succinctly how I tend to diverge from Glenn's approach. I guess one way to put it is: I think he's focused on the "culture war" as though it's more materially significant than it is, and disregarding the effects of actual material "canceling" such as police & military violence, incarceration, and unjust distribution of material resources. Yes, literally hundreds of people lose their jobs because they say the wrong thing, and thousands of people get hounded by leftists on social media -- and it's often disproportionate, certainly garish, and sometimes even has some material side effects. Meanwhile millions of people are in cages (only 5% of them having gotten a trial) and billions are kept artificially poor by exploitation & extraction (with lethal results). I'm not saying the culture war stuff is harmless, I'm saying it's a bad splinter and meanwhile there's arterial bleeding, and focusing on the splinter seems weird to me. 🤷‍♂️
