This is an intersection on my commute home. I took a photo at a red light in July and finally got around to drawing it. The theater is surrounded by much different buildings than the old location. I didn't think downtown could be fun to draw, but I was inspired by cartoonist and painter Mateusz Urbanowicz to give it a try. His watercolors of Tokyo are stunning and his YouTube process videos are really encouraging!
I was listening to the You Are Good podcast episode about "The Changeling" while I draw this, so when I look at the foreground I can hear Sarah Marshall talking about George C. Scott being attractive. Memory is weird.
Listening to podcast episodes about scary movies is a good pace for me, as far as scariness goes.

Sometimes even that is a bit much. I had haunted-house nightmares after seeing Sarah Marshall and Chelsea Weber-Smith's live show about seances and how people faked them. And that show was like a hug with musical numbers!

Looping back to "drawing things from a photo," I've been meaning to draw this since the end of August:

Ahh, sunlight. I miss it so.
This one is a gift for some family friends. They took us to a Oaxacan restaurant around Thanksgiving and tried to help me with my Spanish 😂

Bicycle Pride:

This is my last post of the year since the children’s theater is doing ten Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeers a week through December 😵💫 It’s cute and fun, but also I’ve been dreaming in spreadsheets and the holiday lobby-playlist is embedded in my soul and January will be a welcome relief. My New Year’s resolution is to finish that dingdang chase scene with Captain Turtle!
Thanks, as always, for your support on Patreon. Happy holidays!
