Wizard School and misty bike rides

True story from Wizard School, cartooned with the parent's permission! The theater's Fall Break Camp involved a lot of role playing--the campers decorated their own magic wands and solved a mystery together--and apparently one kid made an off-recipe potion at home.

I got to break out my most exciting find from the Costume Sale!

How often do you get to wear a dress like this?! (Not pictured: me tripping over the train every five minutes, and waddling up the stairs with the bottom of my skirt kind of encompassing both my shoes the whole time.)

I had way too much fun putting together outfits for this week! This one was the result of digging around and realizing that a bunch of long-neglected doodads in my closet go together.

Now I just need to find an excuse to wear it again. ...You can show up to brunch like this in Portland without anyone batting an eye...

The rainy season makes for some soggy bike rides, and some spookily beautiful ones:

Today's ride was more of a get-soaked-down-to-the-undies-en-route-to-a-staff-meeting ride. Oh, well.

I appreciate their website listing an adult-to-child ratio in bold print. I wonder if that was inspired by a wild 7th birthday party or something!

Yeah, the usual (non-Dickens all December) tea price is lower, but still a bit much. We can bake pastries and pasties and whatnot ourselves! Mebbe not while wearing all the finery, however... ;-P

Whoa, that place looks fancy! Definitely not penny-farthing distance from home, either ๐Ÿ˜† Trying our hand at making little pastries sounds fun, too!

http://www.clockworkrosetea.com/ - or we do our own fancy tea with fingers sammitches and little pastries &c. that we bake and make! I've been wanting a good excuse to use the teapot, creamer & sugar bowl that my Mom used to use when taking Sunday tea with her maternal grand'rents when they lived in Santa Monica during the war (WWII).
