Postcards: construction, stress dreams, and A League of their Own

Hi patrons!

The new venue for the children's theater is still under construction. Apparently the construction crew is tickled by the unique job!

One awkward thing about doing journal comics is that drawing can take awhile. You end up drawing a stress dream about summer camp while you're getting ready for Halloween!

I was also halfway done with this one for a couple months.

I knew which screenshots I wanted to use for panels 1 and 2, but took awhile deciding on panel 3. ("So many options to choose from, and such a missed opportunity if I don't pick the best one!" whatever that means!) I really liked how the red and blue baseball jersey popped out from the cloudy and drab scenery.

It was REALLY fun to take screenshots and paint! Note to self: do some more of these! The show was filmed in Pittsburgh--the "movie theater" where they see The Wizard of Oz is the theater where I first saw a touring production of Les Mis--and I got nostalgic looking at the rust belt architecture. OK, also everyone in that show is drawable and beautiful.
