It took awhile to choose outfits and hair for everyone for this scene. (There's an extra pressure with webcomics, knowing you'll be looking at these characters for months or years. At least, that's how it felt.) I was at my computer, trying different search terms, wishing that I could just stumble upon a documentary about lesbian fashion in the 1980s, but of course that doesn't exist, but then JACKPOT--There's a 1992 film called Framing Lesbian Fashion! It's available from a website called Kanopy that's basically a Netflix that you can access with your library card! It is quite a time capsule. There are also documentaries about queer blues singers and musicians, lesbians in film, SF's longest-running lesbian bar... I'm really excited to dive in!
