Thank you so much for sharing, not a buzzkill at all. You're very right though it doesn't get talked about that often and is something that most shy away from because it may seem sort of morbid. But I do believe in the importance of knowing the final wishes of the ones you care about most. It brings comfort for them knowing they can trust things will be easily handled when they're no longer around. I'm glad you felt comfortable enough to speak on this here. That is what we strive for in this community. Safety and non-judgment. We're all human here and for the most part I believe we are all trying to accomplish the same things, making the world a better place to live in one step at a time and the pursuit of happiness.

Inheritance is still a thing. It's how the top 1% keep all that money. They pass it down the family. When my Dad passed a few years back, I had to handle his estate. It was way more work than I could have imagined, but it really did open my eyes to this stuff. I didn't think we would get anything, either. He didn't have a lot, but there was a small piece of land, handed down for generations, and to our surprise, he had like $30k in stocks. Thankfully, we had talked about passing plans like buried or cremated, WHERE he wants to be buried or ashes spread. He always talked about this black onyx enterprise headstone he wanted, lol! It's the one thing we couldn't do for him. :( WAY too expensive, lol! Few people discuss this stuff, since no one likes to talk about it, but it's important to know what your loved ones want. My husband and I have had many talks, my parents, too. Because of that, we knew what he wanted to do with the land and his belongings. He didn't specify any keepsakes to anyone, but I'm thankful that my family was very fair and trusting. I worked closely with my sisters to divide everything up and to handle all the other accounts and things. I know this is a lot, but I wanted to share this because it's something people rarely discuss, yet it's a part of life. I recommend talking with your spouse, family, and maybe even close friends, so you know that your wishes are preserved. The piece of land I mentioned above would have been divided evenly between siblings; however, we all knew that his wish was for it to be passed on to my nephews. He wanted his grandkids to have it, and to keep it in the family. It may sound like a little thing, but it was his wish and we wanted to preserve that. So yeah, inheritance is still a thing, and something you should talk about. It's not something you need to wait until you're older to do, either. I've personally had a will since I was in my 20s. If you own something, make sure people know what to do with it if you're not here tomorrow. In this world, we never know how long we have. "Adam Ruins Everything" from College Humor has a great video on this if you're curious. They break it down really well. Anyways, sorry to be a buzz kill, lol!

great reaction

Cerulean Spectre

Lakan is a complicated man. To say more falls waaaaaaaaaaay into spoilers. I can only say that he is exceedingly powerful in a military kind of way. That isn't a spoiler. It can be inferred from earlier episodes.

2:13 You're missing the point, there were no molds for glass bowls back then, it had to be blown by hand, and when you see it it was also engraved running up the cost even more. 13:30 Working with solder in an unventilated room, inhaling lead vapors. Basen is grumpy because he's been briefed by Gaoshun about Maomao and how to work with her but he tries to be the boss of Maomao and she's not a deferential subordinate and goes off on her own without his input.
