Future Plans #6

Hey everyone! 

Welcome to another month of rewards, and thank you so much for supporting the Patreon! 

First up for this month, we have another early preview of the next project, Ascendants. After the reveal of the seven love interests, it's time for another important character — the main/player character!

As with Emberfate, the main character will not have a sprite so that players are free to come up with their own OCs and imagine the main character as they like. 

There will be a certain degree of customization offered in the initial character creation screen, along with some preset detailed like the MC's role in game (being the Ascendant of Music & Dance and participating in the Trials), much like how Emberfate had MC pre-determined to be the guild leader. 

As you can see, there's an additional customization option compared to Emberfate here of skin color — that's because some of the CGs might include some body parts of MC for interaction (think, for example, a CG of an LI kissing MC's hand), so we've offered a skin color customization option here which will be reflected within the CG. 

The skin color palettes above are still placeholder, as I haven't finalized on the exact skin tones and range with the artist yet. Tentatively, I'm thinking 6 skin color options, but I might increase it to 7 or more later on for the full release if budget allows.

The second stage of customization is, similar to Emberfate, related to the background and skill of your player character. Unlike Emberfate though, the skill spec will actually matter a lot more in Ascendants, as it'll determine how the action / battle scenes go and change some details in certain scenes! 

There'll be three available background / origins for the main character: 

1. Deity Bloodline 

You grew up in the mortal human world as an orphan, unaware of your deity bloodline. Then one day, in your young adulthood, you were approached by the Deity of Life, who has finally tracked down the secret offspring produced by a recently expired Deity with a human lover. You were then brought to his realm, where you were taught the ropes of being an Ascendant — and quickly excelled at beyond the Deities’ expectations.

2. Born from Faith

You came into being as civilizations began to develop and place more importance in artistic pursuits. Naturally born from your followers’ faith, you were one of the more powerful new Ascendants that skipped right past the stages of young childhood and adolescence, manifesting directly as an adult deity.

3. Ascended Mortal

You were once a mortal human many years ago, a member of a budding society during a period that emphasized artistic pursuits. You were one of the greatest musicians of your time, having made immense contributions to the development of music and dance. So greatly revered and respected you were by the people that you ascended after death to become an Ascendant.

Similarly, there are three skill specialties you can choose from — think of as a talent build in a game where you focus on a particular tree / area of skill to focus on! 

1. Siren

Blessed with a mesmerizing voice, your abilities revolve around singing. Different melodies and songs result in different effects.

2. Virtuoso

Possessing unparalleled prowess with all kinds of instruments, songs you play evoke strong effects.

3. Dancer 

With your astounding grace and agility, dances you perform become mysterious rituals with powerful effects.

Regardless of your spec, you can expect that the main character's powers will all revolve around using music and dance as their main "magic spells", with effects such as offensive attacks, defensive abilities, creating illusions, manipulating emotions, and more!
