Ric called Damon his friend that was honestly the best part of this episode for me cz I love Delaric soo freaking much. And ofcourse watching Lexi is always great what she told about vampires being in love and getting hurt as their emotions are magnified is so beautiful. Lexi is the best it just hurts watching her and knowing she’s dead 🥺Also Damon looked V guilty for killing her could see that in his eyes. Damon asking Lexi to help Stefan was so beautiful. The dinner scene is one of my favourites of this season it’s so much fun to watch. You’re gonna love the next one!!

@Jerbear Time to play connect the dots. Okay so John knew about the dagger/ash thing because he is a Gilbert and has read those journals that Elena was reading at the cabin. (we know that cause when Jeremy told John about the one journal Jeremy had found, John tells him there are many more etc)
Last episode John gives the dagger to Damon yes KNOWING it would kill Damon. He read about it in the journal.
In the previous episode John goes to see Katherine in the tomb and she says she wants out of the tomb and John responds: "I'm already on it" (cause he gave Damon the dagger to kill Elijah and that would break the compulsion)
Damon got to the lakehouse with the dagger before Elijah did because Elijah had to take a detour to the witches to find out where Elena was. Damon already knew where she was.

And once again Stefan is retaining information about him that doesn’t make him look good and squeals only when cornered. The term “ripper” comes from Jack The ripper. So now is time to remember few things about Stefan season one, and the stuff he said to Elena, like “When have I ever wanted to hurt anybody”. Clearly a statement that he never should have said, but he said it to manipulate Elena. Basically he was going around killing founder family members, random girls and feeding on wounded soldiers. That is what we know so far.
Damon didn’t apologise to his brother about Lexi, he should have, even if he had reasons that I cannot explain without spoilers and wanted to get the council off their trail, he miss the occasion to apologise to his brother there.
Elena is a badass, she stab herself and after she stab successfully Elijah....poor Elijah stabbed twice in one evening.

I really don't like the fact that Stefan never tells Elena anything about who he is/was until she finds out from other sources. He doesn't tell her about Katherine and she finds that picture in his room in 1x10. He never told her about his bloodlust. Had she known she wouldn't have given Stefan her blood to drink in 1x17. Damon had to tell her about it. Stefan didn't tell Elena that he MADE Damon turn, she got that info from Damon. Stefan never tells Elena about all the people he's killed until she finds out from this journal and his hand is forced.
He has painted himself as this white horse and has let Elena believe it. It just feels like lying especially considering his self righteous indignation over everything Damon does. At what point in a relationship do you think we are entitled to know who a person really is? Cause for them I feel like that point has long since passed.

It's cruel to leave us at the end of the week with episode 18, because episode 19 is 🔥.
As for the episode, I liked that we discover the past of the brothers after their transformations. And the return of Lexi, the best, we see that Damon feels guilt for what he did but I doubt he regrets, I think he thought it was necessary at the time and therefore to regretting something that cannot be changed doesn't help but you can see that he feels guilty, Lexi has always been correct with him.
Anyway, I don't know if you understood the meaning of Ripper for a vampire but you'll find out later if you don't understand, don't worry.
As for John, he gave the dagger in hopes that when Damon kill Elijah, it kill the both of them and he gets rid of the two. Actually, it's smart, he gave little info about the dagger, it's kind of dumb from Damon to go blindly kill an Original that he don't know a damn thing about, usually his plans are more on point.
I like this episode we go from revelation to revelation, first on who can use the dagger, then we have to leave it in the body or the original comes back to life. An intense episode. It's really hard to kill an original for good. Will Elijah come back at one point and if so which one? Now that Elijah is out of the way it is Klaus that they are going to have to deal with.
And Katherine's comeback, she stuck around meaning something has caught her interest and she can still find her advantage, remains to be seen what is her plan.
Looking forward to the next ep,
