Ah HA!! I Knew It!! She is more of a K Pop Fan than I first thought, they sing on treadmills on a regular basis to make sure that they can sing LIVE every time their feet touch the stage.. 😂.. and I agree, I love the experimental stuff, the fact that she goes outside of that POP Box is exciting to me

Oh, this is a comment I left on someone else’s Era Tour watch when they got to the “Enchanted” portion. Thought you might also enjoy it, haha. Comment: I know that the odds of this are basically 0.0001%, but… When I was little, I spent my summers in Stone Harbor (mostly Wildwood, but Stone Harbor was a substantial part of the summer, too). And…the thing is… I’m Taylor’s age. My little sister is her little brother’s age. I used to make a lot of best-friends-for-a-day on those trips. And…I could swear I met a little girl who had been deliberately given a gender neutral name to make it easier to succeed in business (same as me). I was obsessed with cats and usually my best friends for a day loved them, too. And Taylor apparently also used to visit Stone Harbor in the summers. Why is this relevant? Well… at that age, my sister and I had ‘fairy names’. And my fairy name was Morning Glory. And during “Enchanted”, she’s surrounded by fairies dancing like children (well, like I did as a child) as she walks across a bed of morning glories. I know it’s not… I know it can’t be about me. About the memory of two bullied blondes with gender neutral names who loved books, singing, and cats becoming best friends for a day at Just Bead It or something. There are other little girls with gender neutral names. But… I don’t know. Something about this specific performance takes me back to those fleeting friendships on the beach. To being Morning Glory dancing in a witch’s circle trying to summon naiads. So that performance of the song specifically hits me REALLY hard. (If I could ask Taylor Swift just one question, it would be if she was the little girl I remember. I’m faceblind so there’s no way I could even guess.) Even if none of them were Taylor Swift, I hope all my best friends for a day are doing well…

Yep, we watched the Speak Now concert! That was the one with “Haunted”, where she experimented with a little rock in her sound. One of my favorite albums—she threw things at the wall to see what stuck, which I always enjoy. I also really enjoy “evermore” as an album, although it’s less popular than “folklore” for some reason. Some of her best lyrics are on that album, in my opinion. Like the song “ivy”—that song could be a poem, to my mind. It took a bit to grow on me because it was so different, but now it’s one of my favorites BECAUSE of that. Funny how that happens. It took me a few listens to understand the lyrics, admittedly…I wasn’t actually prepared for a song to start with, “How’s one to know? I’d meet you where the spirit meets the bones, in a faith-forgotten land. In from the snow, your touch brought forth an incandescent glow, tarnished but so grand. And the old widow goes to the stone every day, but I don’t, I just sit here and wait, grieving for the living. Oh, goddamn, my pain fits in the palm of your freezing hand taking mine, but it’s been promised to another…” …Oops, I went all the way to the chorus before I caught myself. 😂 Sorry. Anyhow, I’m excited for the next part! Too bad Speak Now only got two songs, and they were the two pop-iest songs… I wish she could have fit some of the little experiments in the tour. But I suppose it’s to be expected that she can’t cram everything in there. The set list is already 44 songs long! Speaking of, can you believe she sounds like that at the END of the first leg of the tour? Six months of 3-6 days a week singing like this… I wouldn’t have a voice at all by then! And the energy she carries all through the whole show. Just love it. I believe her when she says she sang the whole set list on a treadmill daily for six months to prepare.
