Taylor still has some of her band since the beginning. Her background singers since 2012.

I Love the Live vocals from her Emma, she is not trying to be absolutely perfect!! Just giving a fantastic show!!

LK Robinson

Exactly!! What a great way to put it , I don't go to hear perfection when I go to a concert , I go to see and hear a fun and wonderful show, if there are some breaks in the vocals because of laughter or because the crowd has the artist emotional, that is exactly what I want.. and you are right about the ego as well, I saw absolutely ZERO here!! I think she forgot it backstage 😂😂, Proud to see that from a western artist, I hope that some artists here learned a few things from her!!

Yay so excited to watch this!! She has definitely grown her voice, especially listening to Fearless!!

I absolutely agree about her natural voice. She sounds so much better live than on her albums—which is a first out of the Western artists I’ve listened to, I’ve gotta say. Usually if they’re singing live at all, they’re singing off key. (Of the ones I’ve listened to, mind you! I’m sure SOME must be better live like Taylor.) With Taylor, it’s like…hmm… You know, starching and ironing a shirt so it’s a little too crisp and flat? All the texture and anything that sounds like EFFORT seems to be smoothed away. Hiding the breaths. It doesn’t have the same emotion in it. Y’know? Since she produces a lot of her own songs these days and that still hasn’t changed, I wonder if it’s a side effect of that lack of ego you mentioned. Like ‘well, this is what everyone always buys, so this is probably what they want’ and ‘i want to make sure they get perfect music, so I’d better tweak this a little more’ or what have you. I could be wrong, of course, but she’s very straightforward in interviews about thinking that her success is riding on her lyrics and not anything about the quality of her voice. And sure, she may not do vocal runs like some, but…I don’t even LIKE vocal runs! That’s why I’m hoping she’ll release a live album of all her acoustic sets after the Eras Tour. And an album with the best recordings from the non-acoustic sets. Oh, back to the ego thing…I loved how when Paul Sidoti (guitarist) had his solo, she had them put his riser higher than hers so she could point up at him like ‘look at this guy! Isn’t he amazing?’ And how she bowed to each of her band members and vocalists when they came on stage for Fearless. Greeting each of them, taking a moment to make sure the crowd saw them. Playing with them, hugging them… She didn’t just give each of them a hundred grand bonus for six months of work, she also gave them each little moments in the spotlight. She gave the dancers and vocalists opportunities to sit down. They get breaks after athletically intense songs. I’ve watched this like ten times now and it’s like every little choice she makes is showing respect for her people and her fans. I HOPE she changes music here in the states. I want every star to do stuff like this!! On to the next part!
