Chaeyeon left JYPe after 16 and went to WM entertainment, they sent her to the Survival show Produce 48, and she EXCELLED on that show. She was every judge's favorite HOWEVER the audience votes didn't rank her as high as the judges BECAUSE people kept bringing up what was said about her on THIS SHOW. That photographer damn near RUINED career. You should watch the PRODUCE 48 series and see just how great she is. She made the final cut and was in Iz*One for about 2 years. She returned to WM and waited to debut. She debuted this past 2022 as a solo artist (along with several other IZone members Yena, Eunbi etc) and has a hit album Hush Rush (she focused on her vocals and not her dancing for these tracks, she is already known for her dance skills). She left JYPe because after 16 he sat down with Chaeyeon and Chaeryeong and told them ONE OF them would be in the next group after twice (ITZY) but he would not put sisters in the group together, so whoever does not make it, would need to wait even longer for the next group after ITZY. Chaeyeon knew her sister couldn't wait 7-8 more years, so she elected to leave, pretty much locking in that Chaeryeong would make it into ITZY. Rumor has it JYP personally called to WM on her behalf and secured her a spot there.
