Season 2! Woo hoo! Mackenzie Crook who played Cedric/Sigyn did a fantastic job in this. All the crew and cast agreed he was amazing to work with and so much fun, and you can tell he;s enjoying his role a lot. If you ever find yourself in England, there are indeed resorts like what you were describing! They're a lot of fun, and they put so much dedication into their roles feeling authentic, its truly an amazing experience. The jousting, the trebuchet firing, birds of prey and weapons displays in the summer. Getting to explore the Gaol, torture chambers, dungeons and partake in witch trials.. The great Christmas/Candlemas feast, and the Halloween midnight jousting... So much fun! So to answer the sleeping arrangement questions- The medical chambers is I think on the lower side of the opposite wing to Arthur. But! There is a small room off of Arthur's and Morgana's rooms, called the Ante Room or the Antechamber. Where the servants could sleep if their master would have need of them through the night. So Gwen still has her house, but because of Morgana's nightmares (and the probably the fact that her house is so lonely these days) she could spend some of her nights in there in the hopes of comforting Morgana if she needed it. Much like Merlin sleeping in his side room because there is work going on in/under the castle that Arthur might need his assistance with, or that he might need to alert Arthur of. Normally he'd probably only use that room if it was the night before a tournament or if there were important guests in the castle. As for the recommendations of Merlin P.O.V retelling: Film/TV- Merlin (Different one than this one but with the same name- I think from the nineties) Mad Merlin, Lancelot Du Lethe and Le Morte D'Avalon are a trio of films told from Lance and Merlins perspectives. Camelot (2011) tv show that has Morgana and Merlins perspectives. You see Merlin mentor Arthur and fulfill promises he made to Uther about looking after him. Books: Merlin Trilogy (The Crystal Caves, Hollow Hills & Last Enchantment) - Mary Stewart Merlin the Lost Years - T.A Barron Merlin - Stephen R. Lawhead The Camulod Chronicles - Jack Whyte (The narration shifts between the books, but 'The Fort at Rivers Bend' and 'The Sorcerer' are from Merlin's P.o.v) The Squire's Tales - Gerald Morris (Not from Merlin's p.o.v, but each book is from a different character from the myths perspective) If you want a good summary of the Arthurian tales, told in the most humorous way possible I recommend a series by Jeffrey Wikstrom, the first book is called 'Something about a Sword and a Stone?' and it's essentially a brief overview of the myths as told by a modern day geezer at a pub with some opinions. Fantastically funny.
