I love this presentation of this sea shanty! The Wellermen are a fantastic group, and them adding The Bass Gang on this piece is stunning. This group got their start near the beginning of the TikTok sea shanty explosion. Nathan Evans, a Scottish postal delivery person, posted his version of The Wellerman on TikTok. Soon after, Luke Taylor, Aaron Sloan, Bobby Waters, and Jonny Stewart—and others—added harmonies, and the result made the song explode even more. Those four plus Sam Pope did a polished version of the result and formed The Wellermen. Aaron Sloan bowed out to concentrate on school, but the other four remain.
