I do hope you'll find a way to fit reactions in for season 2! It's a perfect continuation of the story and your commentary has been fantastic for S1. Have really, really enjoyed your reactions. However you watch it, don't sleep on it too much longer, I think you'll love it. :) (Bonus/downside is it's only eight 30 minute episodes due to Max's merger/budget cuts, so possibly easier to fit into your schedule but of course we're shorted an hour of this fab story.)

I loved watching your reactions and hearing all your thoughts on this show! I was in the mood for a re-watch in the lead-up to season 2, and your watchalong was just what I wanted. Thank you for this!
My take on Izzy's motivations: it's a combination of jealousy and fear. At the beginning of the series, he's the only one close enough to Ed to call him by his first name; not even Ed's old friend Calico Jack has the privilege. Then Ed hits it off with Stede dizzyingly fast and not only tells him to call him Ed when they first meet, but now he's extending permission to the whole crew. A crew that just tried to kill Izzy when *he* (from his perspective) couldn't maintain his authority over them.
Which goes to the part about fear. Ed might have told us in episode 4 how bored and frustrated he is by the fact that there's no challenge or drama in just sailing up to an enemy and having them surrender immediately because Blackbeard might be on board, but I think that state of security, safety, and routine is a plus for someone less creative and spontaneous like Izzy. We see him repeatedly doing what he can to avoid death (surrendering at knifepoint to Stede in contrast to Ed relishing being run through, telling Ed he's not going to die for him or Stede, and pleading with the crew during the mutiny), and I think he knows that his survival, prosperity, and reputation hinge on Blackbeard's reputation. Up to and including having been saved from imminent drowning just by Ed coming back on board and asking for tea. After a long life of piracy and only two weeks aboard the Revenge, I don't think Izzy knows yet that there are ways to survive besides everyone being scared of you, or that being vulnerable in the right circumstances can lead to strength and growth rater than just being the object of mockery. He wanted to be uniquely close to Ed, but he also served 'Blackbeard' because Blackbeard is the one whose fearsome reputation has kept him alive and thriving (albeit physically, not emotionally or socially) in a hard world.

I would actually love to see Lucius show up with a full ship and crew as a total bad ass out for revenge, just cause I think that would be too funny hahaha

I think the Internet pretty much agrees that Izzy was just jealous. He had gotten used to having Ed all to himself and suddenly, this weird man shows up and starts putting ideas in Ed's head, changing how he sees his life and his work. And Izzy couldn't keep up with all the changes. So he just wanted things to go back to how they were before, before Stede, before Ed fell in love. Back to the time when Izzy could still convince himself that maybe, just maybe, Ed felt the same way about him (regardless of whether you want to believe that Izzy is in love with Ed or not).
Would you consider reacting to the S02 teaser?
No spoilers, but the cast still claims (rather unsuccessfully, if you want to believe the fandom) that Lucius is very dead and will not be returning for S02. He isn't in the teaser. Still, we didn't see his death on-screen, so nobody believes it. The best theory I've read is that he's hiding in the secret passages that Stede built into the ship. My headcanon is that Lucius will show up in a very crucial moment and be very heroic ^^
