SFI-140B Wespe test prints
Added 2023-08-20 23:53:24 +0000 UTCThe initial pair of test prints for the new SFI-140B Wespe fighter, overall, have printed quite nicely. Clearly there's no issue with the fighter printing, as seen in the photos. However, I do have some tweaks to the supports I need to do, and run a test or two more, before dropping the STLs (which will drop before month's end). I missed a spot, on the bottom rear of the fighter, that needs added support (a pointed end surface) and I also see that a mild layer shift occured, on both prints at the upper tail fins. This shift looks like it's the same thing that keeps occasionally popping up in prints on the Mars 2 mono, in the same exact horizontal (layer) elevation, no matter the print, so this is likely the Mars 2, not the actual file. None the less, I plan to attempt to sort that out as well.
Additionally, I want to note that the mystery Palladium gig that has kept me pretty tied up this year has ballooned into something far more involved, interesting, and lucrative than initially expected. Because of this, that work is still keeping me pretty tied up so my plan is to continue to drop STLs as often as I can, and get to the related illustration/box art work as I can. I have no plans to drop printing what so ever but I do want to keep you all posted on the current landscape. The summer has been far busier with other work than I thought it would be.
All said, the fighter looks great in person and I imagine will really look impressive with a nice paint. Expect the STLs, in the next day or two, along with some other goodies as well.
