Rather sizable gig for Palladium Books now underway
Added 2023-05-27 03:14:58 +0000 UTCAs the header states, I'm now knee deep in a pretty big project for Palladium Books, one that is high priority for the publisher. Unfortunately I can't say a word about what it is, other than..., yeah, it's a sizable chunk of work and fans of Palladium will likely really dig it. This is a good thing, this winter was brutal in heating costs so this gig is a welcome pending injection of cash. This will also, in the long run, help keep the printing endeavor rolling, as it does cost money to do this printing thing.
I want to drop this update to assure, that while this new gig will adjust my plans for the Patreon wee bit while I'm working on it, the gig will not stop the STL content from coming. As printing updates to soon follow will cover, it's been a bit of a roller coaster getting printing back to speed, but, printing appears to be back to speed now. While the Palladium work has become a priority I have to focus on, I also do intend to still print, and release more STL files, I just will likely have to put the extra art bundles on hold briefly.
New TE-60 Stiletto C-1 painted test print
As the I noted in the recent updated variation Stiletto C-1 release I will likely be dropping more STL only releases, just for now, until the Palladium work is either in the can, or far enough along I have some wiggle room. So I likely simply will not have the time for the box arts but, obviously, I can still print while I work on the mystery Palladium gig. The good news, is I'm already looking to be ahead of the allotted time from I have to complete this gig (a lot ahead, for the moment), so I don't think this will cause a major disruption, but I want to be clear it will eat up a chunk of my time without question.
So, what's coming?
Updated supported STLs for the Stiletto C-1, STL only release of the Navaja B variant to drop in the next day or so, another pending fighter STL soon to be tested and likely dropping this month as well. If I can, I'd like to squeeze in more tutorial posts, I just need a moment to write them up (they will be coming for sure though, hopfully sooner than later). Next month I'll be looking to release several more STL only drops (probably some minis mixed in as well), so my plan is to keep STL content going if the fighter related art work has to take a pause. Everyone here for the STLs to begin with, I imagine will be cool with this and I always planned to do more STL only releases eventually anyhow (and no this doesn't mean I plan to stop doing the extra art altogether. I love doing that so I do plan to continue for select releases for sure).
I installed a new LCD screen in the Mars 2 Mono, as well as a new FEP to the stock green vat that came with the printer. The Mars 2 is producing better prints than it was prior (even more dialed in with the Sun Lu resin I've been using) so I couldn't be happier on that front. The Saturn S has been a bit more unruly but I've also got it pretty dialed in as well, so I plan to tackle some larger print versions of the fighters soon.
I'm getting beautiful prints of the Navaja B but plan to run another print tomorrow with some support tweaks to ensure a minor cosmetic issue is rectified (essentially supports nicking a small chunk out of the front intake lower outer wall). The new test will likely fix the issue and the STL release will follow. Navaja B drops during the Memorial Day holiday, so in the next 3 days (tommrrow or Sunday most likely).
So, to wrap this up, I want to, again, extend my deepest thank you to those of you who have continued to lend your support. I have no intention to stop making content and getting the Mars 2 Mono back in action, printing better prints than ever, has me excited to continue the print-a-palooza rolling. While the mystery Palladium gig will be a priority for me, the Patreon is always priority as well so I'll make the adjustments above and put the focus on STLs for the moment, though some surprise art just might... be in the wings too. If you like the work I've been doing, please do stick around. Even when things don't always go as planned there's always a ton of work behind the scenes that I put in (especially when it's troubleshooting, I don't stop until I solve it) so I'm never idle with this stuff.
Even when it's frustrating it's still exciting and fun to be producing this stuff, so thanks for the support everyone!
May all of you have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!
