Surprise stealth reveal of two brand new variant designs of the original Javelin and Ballista fighters. Obviously they have resulted in successful prints so they both will get released soon. Now that the weather is warming up I can actually print, test, and potentially release a great deal more. I'll have a pile of more photos later but here's a peek at the new prints now.
These were both built off the original Zbrush models iterating new details and aesthetic cues. The notion is pretty straightforward; military fighter design has always gone through iterative design lineage changes. So, for example, the new Javelin D variant could be thought of like an F-18 super Hornet iterated upgrade to an F-18 Hornet. The new Ballista variant is a more aggressive variant of the original fighter having; A longer nose, additional subtle greeble details throughout, a pair of added cannons, and more hot-rodded beefed up engines.
The new STLs for both of these are, again, much smaller file sizes, both coming in well under 100mb. From here, on out, I plan to ensure the files are in that range.
I can already see doing variants, like these, will be fun so, while I'm not always sure what I will tackle as I'm designing stuff, I can see doing variants like this more for certain, along with creating new designs as well.
And, remember folks, feel free to comment or like on any of the posts. Building anything takes time but I'm in this for the duration so lets see where this all goes together.
Thanks for looking and thank you always for the continued support! Have a great weekend!
