Practice

To get back into drawing and to set-up my software again  while using it, I made a little practice picture of fan favourite Holly Valentine.
This really helped me to get everything back the way I'm used to it without risking ruining a sprite for the game.
I hope you all like it!

Great news!

Thanks to all you lovely supporters, I have been able to buy a used high-end pc previously owned by a friend of mine! I have upgraded it with spare parts from my previous pc and everything is now working better than ever before.
I'm installing all the new software, getting it to work like it worked previously with necessary upgrades.

My files have all been saved and I almost have complete access to everything again!

Thank you all so very much for your patience and continued support.
I will be sending out the Patreon Rewards asap!

Love you all! You guys have really saved me!
Thank you all so much!!

Good news and bad news

Hey everybody, I have two announcements.
First up, the good news. My programmer just send me the alpha version, which means the beta is almost done and ready for testing.
The bad news is, and this is a big one, my computer crashed yesterday. It's not booting up anymore. Someone will come over in a few days to try and repair it, but this means I can't send the download links for the original DKO to the new patrons until my pc is fixed so please bear with me. I also can't work on the game this week, so I'm very sorry about this. I'm doing my best to get everything fixed as soon as possible. In the meantime, I'll be doing absolutely nothing except stare at my wall until my computer is repaired.

Update and new stuff coming

It's been a while again but we're still going strong. Thanks to your donations, I've been able to pay a new programmer to join the Fat Maps team. He's reworking the engine I built to incorporate some cool new features. This means I can go back to focusing on the art while he works on the code. I'm currently writing design documents for him to work him in. So what's new? - a system that allows you to gain exp and level up your stats. Sparring mode will earn you points to level up which helps to complete challenge mode to get the true ending. - a save feature that automatically saves your exp, wins and losses. - a ground and pound move for the player to use too. No more one sided cheating! - we're thinking about an achievement system as well for additional cool unlockables, though that could be a feature starting at Holly's game. We're working on both the Allison game, as well as the Nashiko game. So it could be possible those betas come out around the same time. Also, with this new force on our team, we're planning on going mobile in the near future as well! We're working as fast as we can to release a new beta as soon as possible. We've been growing as a business quite rapidly but that also comes at the price of adjustment time and working out arrangements. Thank you all so much for your patience and support. Without you guys, we'd never would have been able to grow so fast! So thank you all! Look forward to some new art updates soon!

FAT MAPS IS LIVE

Sorry for the lack of updates recently. I've been very busy behind the screens, getting an accountant, filling in documents, writing up contracts and all that great boring stuff. But what did we gain from this? Well, I'm proud to announce that we've officially become a legitimate business! Fat Maps Productions is now a company with me as its owner and with the occasional freelancer doing work such as art and music for us. It's been quite a hassle but hopefully it'll all prove worth the effort. (Also, I've started work on the new beta. Adding the artwork to the engine and tweaking it for new moves and features.)

Patreon creditcard problems

Hello my loyal donators, This month, Patreon had some issues with creditcard companies, and a lot of pledges got declined. Of course, this isn't your fault, so I've decided I will be considering all pledges as processed correctly this month. I will be sending download links for the original dream knockout asap for all 10 dollar patrons. Also, if I manage to get a beta out this month, for the Allison version or for the Nettomedley version, it will be send to all 20 dollar patrons, regardless.

The heat finally died down a bit here!
This was a pose suggestion by one of our $25 dollar patrons.
Thank you very much Hazel.

Heatwave

Sorry for the lack of updates. There's a heatwave where I live and the temperature has risen to ludicrous heights. Some roads have been closed because the heat actually melted the asphalt. Since I don't have an airco, I can't really work in this weather. Even at night it's too hot. So, I'll be back with new stuff in a few days. Right now, I'm going to be looking for something to cool me down a bit.

Special Announcement

I'm proud to say that we've struck two collaboration deals with some very talented artists. We're planning on releasing one, maybe two, extra DKO games this year.
Now, nothing has been set in stone as of now, but we're all working very hard to make this a reality!

Hopefully, it will result in some fun stuff like the AMAZING stuff VeXeDZERO made!

We did it! Lindsay Lords is live!

After some months of working, we've finally done it!

The game is complete! I hope you're as excited as I am!

This game was made with all our combined efforts! Me drawing and coding and you guys supporting me in every way that was possible. Therefor, I won't say "thank you for all your wonderful support". I will say "Congratulations on creating a game which we can all enjoy!" You guys are as much a driving force in the creation of the first game of the Gloves of Love series as me, so 'well done' I say to you!

I hope you'll have a lot of fun playing the game you all helped create!
I will be sending early-access versions of the game to all $20 Patrons! All other Patrons will be receiving discount codes for the full version. Coming next week, I'll be releasing the game in my web-shop!

So, who's next? The red-haired diva, Allison Pearls! I can't wait to start on the next installment of our Dream Knockout franchise!
I will keep everybody posted! I hope I can continue to count on your support for the upcoming games as well!

Update

So, with two more sprites left to go, what's the planning? The opening menu song is almost done, probably finished tonight. Adding some small extra UI to make it more clear on what to do during the humiliation scenes. Added the backgrounds. Fixed a few minor bugs. Fixed some dialogue that didn't fit with the character limitations. Fixed a few drawing errors, like coloring over the lines. I'm going to be making the last two sprites today, so I'm planning on releasing the full game tomorrow. It's the final stretch!

Difficulty

Since most people liked the difficulty but some wanted it a bit easier, I think I found the best solution. I made the blocking controls flow more fluently, so it's waaaay easier to block, without decreasing the difficulty of knocking her down.

The last beta version is here

I will be sending the download link within the next few hours to all 20 dollar and above Patrons!

This version has a small new easter-egg ending when you don't hit Lindsay once.

Also, the biggest change is the addition of backgrounds and finished sprites. Not all sprites have been added, mind you, but a lot are.

The game is almost done now! Thanks for all your awesome support! You guys are the best!

Beta 1.3 on its way

Because of the delay of DKO2, I'll be releasing another beta to make up for it. Almost all sprites of the main fighting part are done. What remains are most of the humiliation moves and the endings. So one more sprite before we get a new beta version. This version has most of the finished sprites, backgrounds, some minor tweaks as always and a new hidden ending for the true jobbers amongst us. This version will really drive home the look and feel of what the finished product will look like. We're almost there. Since it's the end of the month, I'd like to thank you lovely patrons once more for your generosity and your love for DKO. Even though Lindsay still thinks you're pathetic losers, I am very grateful to you all ^_^ DKO2 is almost done now, so production on DKO3 will start somewhere in June. Allison can't wait to finally get in the ring!

Progress update

So, how's the project going? The music is almost done so it can be looped in game. That'll be next week. Don't expect too much change in it. I expect the spriting to be finished in the first week of June. I don't think I can make a May release happen and work at a healthy pace at the same time. As soon it's done, all 20 dollar patrons and above will get the pre-release version for free. Then after about a week or two, the game will go on sale at my new webshop for $17,90, tax included. It is a few dollars more than the last one, but that's because twice the amount of time and work is spent on this project. Of course, all patrons will be sent discount codes as a thank you. Now, this Wednesday I'm having a conversation with a company. If that goes well, I can start my own ecchi gaming company. And the patreon donations is what's the basis for my business-plan defense. If I can pull this off and start my company, it will totally because of you guys! So thanks for everything guys! You guys are the heart of Dream Knockout! ❤️

19 sprites left to go!

There are about 19 more sprites left!

We're getting there!

Thank you all for the support! Because of you guys, i was able to work way more on the game than originally planned. We we able to add custom made music and I've received a lot of feedback that helped resolve bugs and other issues!

Allison hopes she can't count on the same support you've given Lindsay! I want to start on the Princess Edition of Dream Knockout next month, when the Strawberry Edition is finished!

Becoming an official business

So, today I've been going in and out of offices, talking to suited officials of the Chamber of Commerce.
Right now, I'm actually writing a business plan to turn Dream Knockout into an official business.
If this plan gets accepted, I'll be getting some Chamber of Commerce support for the games!

They already like the idea, so if the plan I'm writing is up to par, we'll be golden! Wish me luck! ^_^

I still can't believe the demand for a DKO game was still so high. I can't even begin to express my gratitude. You all have my love! ❤️

Fixed them nasty bugs

I refurbished the game to the new engine. Things are running pretty smoothly in GameMaker Studio now. As things are now, I'm still on schedule for an April beta release!

View Post

My to-do list

I recently needed to upgrade my software because I was using ancient, forgotten technology which wasn't able to contain the game I was building. This, unfortunately, led to some bugs and some assets I now need te recreate.

So, what's remaining until the BETA is done?

- I need to rebuild the player's punching mechanic in the engine. It was running perfectly. It now runs like a winter nose...
- I need to finish up the player wins ending, although that's about 70% done.
- I need to put in a "you're the worst player ever"-ending. Who doesn't love one of those? It's just a minor thing. More of an easter-egg than an actual ending minigame.
-Some minor bug fixes.

That's about it. After that, I'll be back to finishing up my sprite-work for the finished product.
