/Somewhere on the 24th floor…/

'The ground trembled a normal-sized door rose from the ground.'

/BZZ!/

"Damn! I barely even got here and there are already mosquitoes trying to bite me…" Silver said as he stepped out of his magical door

'He looked around the place and confirmed that there was no one observing him before proceeding.'

"Sorry buddy, but you'll stay away for today as well, I'll call you out if there is a need to." Silver said to his Halberd

'He opened his pocket space and stored his halberd and body armor before taking out a few more items, scattering them on the floor.'

"Monster luring powder… It's here... I'm just running low on them, I'll have to stop by the black market again..."

But really, I fucking hate that place, almost 10K Valis per 100G of this power...

That's more expensive than some drugs...

'He rolled his eyes in frustration before checking out the next object, a small syringe...'

"Special 'Vitality training serum' checked."

'His eyes then moved to several sets of waist and leg bands...'

"Heavy weights checked."

"Potions and other medicines… The usual... All here."

I'm all done.

'With a smile, Silver stretched slightly as he thought about what to do.'

"First… I'll check out to see if there is anyone around me…"

After that I'll use the powder and inject myself with the serum.

The serum isn't anything special, instead, it's a debilitating solution meant to cause a series of side effects such as exhaustion, numbing, sensory deprivation, and a few more.

I made it on my own although I think it would've been stronger had I asked Miach to do it, or someone with the Mixing Development ability.

But I can't ask him to make me what is effectively a super dangerous poison, the same goes for other pharmacists...

And I have no interest in commissioning someone from the black market to do it.

It's made not to kill, but to weaken and to have long lasting effects... Obviously for the sole reason of training myself.

Creating a dangerous situation, and also to have my body grow stronger by fighting the poison...

Even if I don't have the Development Ability of Abnormal resistance, my body has grown quite resilient to these effects...

Although it could also be a result of my high Vitality.

(Also know as Endurance, they mean the same thing)

And lastly, the weights… Meant to give me a bit of extra work, although I normally take them off later, not because they are heavy, but because they make my movements clumsy which is detrimental when I'm trying to get better at hunting and fighting.

All of this combined with the fact I'm not wearing armor and you got yourself the fastest way to commit suicide…

Although I have no intention of doing that.

This is the best way I have found out for myself...

Scout a floor...

Create a path not very used by other adventurers...

Use the luring powder together with whatever 'training objects' I have...

Then persevere through the waves of monsters as long as I can.

And at the end or during the chaos, collect as much loot as I can before it ends up destroyed or lost.

/Zip!/

'Silver opened the powder bag and let its contents spread far by moving the wind around the place.'

"This should cover an area of around 1 to 2Kms radius of me..."

Once the chaos start, most adventures will keep themselves far away from me...

So much so that I've never actually met anyone while training.

'After that, he injected himself with the blueish solution, but only a small dosage, leaving behind over 70% of its contents.'

'As he felt his body heaten up in reply to the foreign substance, he said:'

"Let's start small… I'll put on the weights later."

But... This training method will have to die with me otherwise people will call me a maniac…

I don't really care that much about others, but I would feel bad if someone died while trying to imitate me, even if in a meager way...

Hearing everyone scold me would also be pretty awkward.

/ROAR!/

'Before he even had the time to think, the roars of the berserk beasts could be heard echoing in the forest of the 24th floor.'

"They sure are quick… As always." He said as he cracked his neck

/Rustle!/

/BZZZZ!/

'It had been less than half a minute, but Silver could already hear the sounds of monsters running in the bushes and the insects flying towards him…'

/Freeze…/

'The air slowly froze around him, and his usual clear ice spear formed in his hand.'

"Time to rock."

/UGHOOO!/

/BAM!/

'The trees were suddenly blown away and a green figure burst out like a rocket towards Silver!'

/BAM!/

'Silver placed his right hand forward and a cone-shaped explosion was released from his fingers, halting the creature on its path.'

/FWUSH!/

'But that was not enough as the green creature emerged from the smoke and tried to punch Silver, but he quickly teleported away to observe the situation.'

'The green creature looked around but to no avail, so it roared in anger.'

'Silver on the other hand smiled, but he was still focused.'

"A Moss huge? How lucky."

'A moss huge, as the name implies, is a huge monster whose body is completely made out of Moss, and when attacked, it has the ability to create copies from its moss to help it escape.'

'It's a rare monster that usually flees instead of attacking, but that didn't mean it was weak.'

'It had immense physical power and the magical ability to control the many vines around it!'

/BUZZ!/

'Silver was barely given time to observe, as the skies were already taken over by dozens of giant insects, diving towards him with their stingers and claws ready to tear him apart.'

"Heh, come on!"

'Raising his left hand, he made all of the insects gather together into a massive ball and threw them towards the Moss huge.'

'Together with that, his right hand swole before a small spherical object was created on the back of his palm, he threw it as they were gathering, making the ball disappear within the bodies of monsters…'

/SNAP!/

/BOOOM!/

'A massive explosion happened in the middle of the monsters, and their body parts were scattered all around the place, black smoke started to rise into the skies together with a terrible smell…'

'But this was just the start…'

/ROARR!/

"Phew..."

'Within the roars and the buzzing of wings, Silver started his fight…'

/A few minutes later, on top of a tree a few km away from where Silver fought…/

'A very tall person clad in a black robe watched his fight from afar, silently.'

'10 minutes… 30 minutes… 2 hours.'

/BOOOM.../

'From time to time, huge explosions would shake the forest, and massive fires would burn away trees…'

'Dazzling bolts of light would rush into the skies, large ice pillars would form from nothing, and the very earth would move due to their clash…'

'The air trembled as if a storm was brewing, making the leaves rustle in a bizarre symphony.'

'Large crowds of monsters were rushing all the time there, as if they were mind-controlled…'

'Swarms of flying giant wasps moved like battalions of airships, ready to gun whatever was causing all of this mayhem…'

'It seemed as if War was happening in the Dungeon…'

'Once the shadowy figure felt that enough time had passed, he grabbed something clad in a red cloth from his pocket and unraveled it.'

'It was a beautiful large white diamond glimmering under the faint light from the glowing moss of the Dungeon, he grabbed it and threw it in the middle of where the chaos was boiling…'

'Even if small, to be able to throw the diamond with such precision so far away spoke leagues of the figure's power...'

/ROARRRR!/

'Within a minute, the forest trembled as something quickly made its way to where Silver was…'

/Back to Silver…/

"Huff!"

/PIERCE!/

'Silver did a quick jump, barely avoiding a huge deer with antlers that looked like a single very sharp sword…'

'He spun in the air and stabbed his ice spear at its head, making the stag body slide away due to its momentum.'

/BAM!/

'As soon as he stepped on the ground, a troll swung its massive fist downward, trying to squish Silver…'

'But he punched upwards and blew it away, making the troll stumble back.'

/Fwoosh fwoosh fwoosh!/

'Several finger-sized thorns almost drilled their way into his flesh, being launched by what seemed to be a large rose…'

'Even the plants were against him…'

'Not only that, in the sky, large dragonflies kept bombarding him with spikes...'

"Huff!"

'Every once in a while, Silver had to draw quick breaths, his stamina wasn't infinite, and the poison plus the weights were very effective at draining away his stamina.'

'He didn't take a single potion ever since he started this, but that didn't mean he was perfect, and that was shown by the many bloodstains on his clothes.'

'Although his body had no signs of damage… Apart from a few light cuts that could be seen healing at a visible speed… Silver had committed many mistakes and would make more.'

'It was impossible for him to not commit a mistake given the chaos all around...'

'But for a normal person, he was doing exceptionally well.'

'That is... If they could even see Silver and the monsters moving around, the sheer speed of their movements made it seem as if they were in a movie being played at x32 speed…'

'Slowly, Silver took out wave after wave of monsters...'

'Everything seemed to be going well when…'

"COUGH! COUGH COUGH! Shit…"

'Silver started to heavily cough, interrupting his rhythm…'

'He looked at the side and saw the one responsible for this, a small group of colorful mushroom-shaped monsters, releasing a thick mist of poisonous spores into the air…'

"Dark Fungus… COUGH!"

/BAM!/

'Silver committed yet again another small mistake, and allowed a Mad beetle to strike his arms, sending him flying with a small gash for several meters.'

'But Silver quickly got up, barely affected by this while also avoiding a Bugbear that tried to sneak attack him from behind.'

'He committed many mistakes, and this what allowed him to improve himself, he wouldn't do it again… At least not that many more times…'

/SLASH!/

'Silver disappeared from his location and reappeared behind the annoying group of Dark Fungus, his hand started to crack as it turned into stone…'

/FLASH!/

'A gray flash of light covered all of the monsters, and some of the weaker ones immediately turned into stone, while some others became relatively slower as parts of their bodies solidified…'

'The insects fell from the sky and crumbled into bloody chunks while some of the big ones remained still...'

'With a slightly pale look, Silver approached each of those monsters and gave them the last hit, killing them.'

"Is it over?"

'Silver looked around, and he smiled.'

Looks like the Dungeon gave up.

'He rested his back against a tree, thinking.'

If the Dungeon is aware or not, that doesn't matter.

What matters is that it isn't merely an inactive force, it may very well be some sort of complex being...

It is capable of exuding anger, and many times, and adapting to the situation as it would purposely spawn monsters near injured adventurers to kill them off.

It can grow better, improving the monsters within it as the centuries pass...

However, the reason why the Dungeon grows exponentially more dangerous the deeper you go was never properly explained, and the Gods had ver tight lips...

Even the more chaotic ones would refuse to speak a word...

Not all of them knew what was happening, but those that knew refused to speak.

"There is a saying about adventures, and that is something like…"

"It can always get worse…"

And they aren't wrong.

You may flee from a group of bugbears and meet with a horde of Deadly hornets…

The thing is, the Dungeon will always try to fuck you over… The only thing that confuses me, is how exactly it does it.

Is the Dungeon aware of everyone within it, waiting for a chance to screw each and every one individually?

Or does it have a limited attention span?

Sometimes, people can get fucked and still flee, and other times, their situation will get worse and they end up dying or losing someone dear to them…

It may look like luck and it may very well be…

But my situation points to another behavior.

Because I cause chaos by gathering and cleaning large groups of monsters, the Dungeon would often try to wipe me out.

Be it by increasing the spawn rate of monsters around me, or sending something stronger like a Minotaur group in the Upper Middle floors.

As if it's not pleased with my actions, it tries to effectively chase me out.

And when it sees that its efforts were futile, it would just halt like now...

There is no reason for the monsters to stop attacking me, the powder is still in the air, and the monsters wouldn't just stop spawning...

"But I haven't done anything out of the rules so I am mostly fine, or perhaps the Dungeon is more patient than I thought as it hasn't decided to launch an abomination like the Juggernaut..."

Although I wonder if this even fazes it...

An increase in the number of monsters I have to face won't change a thing, and irregular monsters or enhanced species won't just appear like that…

/Tremble…/

/Rustle…/

"Hm?... No way…" Silver said in disbelief

Speak of the Devil...

'His sharp eyes noticed a dark green creature, slowly making its way to him, knocking down the trees in its path as if they were weed…'

'A large reptilian body at least over 10M long, a massive head with a maw big enough to devour 4-5 adults at once, massive claws bigger than a child…'

'Dark green scales covering all of its body, looking at him with unending anger.'

"A green dragon?... Why is it here?"

'Silver was extremely confused, especially given the characteristics of these monsters.'

'The strongest creature in the Middle floors by far, the green dragon is an elusive beast that has a single role, and that is to protect.'

'What can be considered to be the only form of treasure chest in the Dungeon, the Green Dragon protects it.'

'The so-called treasure trees, large trees whose bark are filled with all sorts of unique and rare gems… Totalizing for a massive amount.'

'However, they aren't so easy to get, nor are they common, a treasure tree is a rare thing to spot, and so is the Green Dragon that protects it…'

'So why was one right here in front of him?'

"There's no way a treasure tree just formed as I fought, that's not how this works…"

Or is it? I have no information on how they form… Because they are normally found and not seen growing...

/ROARRR!/

'The green dragon roared, cutting Silver out of his thoughts!'

'There was no time to think, the massive creature was rushing at him with its maw opened wide open!'

'The Green Beast, a monster equivalent to a Level 4 adventurer, the strongest of this section of the Dungeon was charging at Silver with red eyes!'
