SKETCHBOOK: Envy concept sketches // sfw
Added 2020-02-06 00:24:51 +0000 UTCso i’ve long had this vague mental image of what i wanted the prime (demonic leader) of envy to look like, but only now sat down to transfer it to paper (so to speak). they turned out looking exactly like i wanted them to, and i’m sure everyone who’s had that same success knows how incredibly satisfying it is!
the whole realm of envy is themed on swamps, marshes, and disease, with envy being like a mire (so easy to fall into, so hard to get out of) or an illness (catches on easily, difficult to cure). envy’s true form is very much in line with this aesthetic, while their human form is this beautiful androgynous person who has a strange attractive charisma—it’s not sexual or romantic, but they’re weirdly irresistible and it’s just so easy to let them into your life, you know?
i’m still debating their true demonic name, but i think that when they’re disguised as a human they just introduce themselves as ‘evie.’
also included some doodles of swamp-looking envy demons—among them will-o-the-wisp-like little thingies, to lead people astray into proverbial or literal marshes.
