This is a 3.5-hour step-by-step Houdini and Redshift tutorial to create a flower blooming effect.
The expansion course includes a flower template project. It can be modified to bloom any flower. In addition, the flower settings on the vine will be updated later.

If you want a lot of faces, just increase the subdivision level. If you need more complex flowers, there are different types of flowers in my other content.

2025-07-22 23:28:03 +0000 UTCHi! I’ve watched the entire course, but I didn’t quite understand something. In the final result, the geometry looks more low-poly, whereas earlier we were creating high-res geometry for the petals and other detailed parts of the flower. I’d really like to use the high-poly geometry in the final stage as well, but I couldn’t figure out how to do that. I’d appreciate it a lot if you could clarify this for me!
