End of Year Feedback + Update

Hey everyone! The year is almost out, and hopefully all of you are managing to enjoy the holiday period (in whatever form that may take for you). I'd like to take advantage of the turn of the year to put out a little state-of-the-patreon update, as well as solicit some feedback. So, let's get into it!

Honestly? I'm extremely happy with how things have gone this year. I think I've raised by game a little, and hopefully that's why there are so many, many more of you than there were this time last year! I finished A Commanding Weakness along with several shorter series, I wrote a whole load of really good short stories, and the two big series I'm writing - Rescue Hound, and The Subordinate - are ones I'm really incredibly happy with. I've also been writing at a pretty crazy pace the past few months. I may ease up on that a bit, just to avoid burnout, but hey! Being productive is nice. I feel like I'm at risk of tooting my own horn here, but I really am pleased with how things have been going

That's why I'm not really planning on any big changes for the year ahead. Obviously I'm going to continue with Rescue Hound and The Subordinate, and beyond that I have plenty, plenty more ideas to tear into (both Warhound stories and not). I've also been making good progress through the set of commissions I took last month, so I may well open up for more within the next couple of months. But all in all, you can expect things to continue much as they have been. I will just mention that at some point, I'm probably going to start adding epub versions of my stories to my posts. I've had a few requests, and have made up mind to learn the appropriate formatting sooner rather than later. I'm also keen on releasing, at some point, a slightly more officially (self-) published version of Warhound (along with a few other relevant stories). A genuine ebook, with cover art and everything. Perhaps even a physical edition, if that seems feasible. Obviously that won't mean anything new, per se, for those of you who get those stories hot off the presses here - but again, I've had requests. So why not?

But as the year turns, I'd also like to repeat my regular plea for feedback. There's well over four hundred of you know, and I'd really appreciate getting a slightly better sense of how you all feel about my work. I understand that providing feedback directly to me might seem a bit daunting, so I've decided to present a couple of channels in which you can all be happily anonymous instead:

Firstly, here's my Neospring page. For those not in the know, it's basically just a little site that allows people to submit questions or comments anonymously. At the moment I just use it to answer the occasional random question on social media, but since I have it, why not open it up to all of you too? Feel free to leave anything, within reason - what you like, what you'd want to see more of, is there anything you'd be interested in seeing my take on (be it themes, aesthetics, characters...) You get the picture, I'm sure

Secondly, here's a poll! And the poll question is: what kinds of stories would you like to see more of? I've broken it down into some broad-sweeps categories, and you can vote for more than one if you'd like. I'd like to warn that I won't consider this poll binding, necessarily. I will, above all, write whatever I think will make for the best stories I'm capable of. But especially since I've no shortage of ideas, there's no reason that judgment can't be informed by all of your preferences too. So: have at it!

What kinds of stories would you like to see more of?

(and, of course, Happy New Year!)

You deserve to toot your own horn so much girlie, you’ve been killing it and honestly I dream of buying your works in physical print one day, you deserve to be published!

Noted! I'll come clean right now and say that a direct sequel is pretty unlikely... but I am incredibly, incredibly fond of that story and everything involved in it, so I think it's a pretty safe bet you'll get more like that in the future!

Big fan of Reformation, I'd love a sequel to that!
