Banana Fish is amazing but it's really dark and violent, with some comedic and sweet moments sprinkled in. I don't think you missed anything, even with all the info they stuffed into the first episode. This one is a thriller for sure. Ha, all the ones we recommended are great shows, so whichever you pick will be fine.
