Who took Wen Ning???
Comments
First of all, I'd just like to say I was really happy when I saw a comment from you cause this is the 2nd time you've joined my patron so thank you so much for commenting 😁
I'm so glad someone agrees with me with regard to JC, I understand he's a clan leader now and must make some hard decisions but some things are just plain wrong, he is a terrible person, a terrible friend and an even worse brother.
Thank you so much for the appreciation 😊 it means alot.
And yes I'm doing well enough i guess, I hope you are too : )

I always found it strange how Jiang Cheng apologists™ call Wei Wuxian a "morally grey character" when his heart was always in the right place?? Yeah, some of the things he did went downhill and the resentment energy gets to him sometimes, but all in all he is a GOOD MAN!! Jiang Cheng, on the other hand, has done things that make my blood BOIL, like going out of his way to torture innocent demonic cultivators, being willing to sacrifice children and elders for self-preservation, and a few other things.
When I first started watching MDZS (well, technically The Untamed) I had the same reaction as you; I was a Jiang Cheng HATER oml. After reading the novel though, I have come to understand his actions (even as shitty as they are). I mean... what can you expect from a man who was raised by a mother (R.I.P my #1 milf) who put negative and classist thoughts about WWX into his head (ex. how WWX was a better cultivator even though he's a servant./ that Jiang Fengmian loved WWX more because he was in love with his mom, etc.) and a father (also R.I.P) who neglected him for most of his life? It was easy to pin the blame on WWX for the murder of his parents and the extermination of the Jiang Clan, even if it was bound to happen eventually.
As much as I hate it, I understand that Jiang Cheng was born the son of a sect leader, so he was always raised to have too much pride. NEVERTHELESS, the entitlement he feels he has over WWX is concerning. He was all fine and good, encouraging WWX to brutally murder Wen Chao and the rest of the Wens. But now that WWX is using his power for something that doesn't concern him or his clan, NOW he thinks WWX has gone too far. A few humiliating words from Jin Guangshan and his ass immediately jumped on the mob mentality train smh.
There are a lot more things I have to say about JC (especially about the god-awful comparisons people make between him and Lan Wangji), but I must save those thoughts till later episodes so you can get the bigger picture.
P.S. I just realized this is the first time I have ever commented, so I just want to say that I appreciate your dedication to uploading even with the bad situation going on in your country! there's always too much corruption happening in almost every government; it's insane.
Anyways, can't wait for the next episode and I hope you're doing well. <3

I disagree with you about Jiang Cheng, there was no political way to save the wens, the Jins were hell bent on them dying, even when they did nothing wrong.
Wen Ning and his sister put their own lives in danger to protect him when he lost his golden core and was out cold. He is alive today because of them and now he doesn't care whether they die simply because "Their surname is wen", he has forgotten that their last name was still Wen when he ate their food and took their medicine.
In my opinion, this isn't even about morality, some things shouldn't even be thought about twice, Jiang Cheng is a terrible person and a terrible friend. Wuxian is his brother for heaven sake, if Yanli sudenly decided to help the wens, would he throw her away too???
What makes him any different from the Wens he fought so hard to kill?
Demon Cultivation aside, they killed his friend and for nothing, anyone would be quick to anger, I even think he didnt do enough cause Zixun was left breathing. He just refuses to stand for injustice and is ready to die doing what is right if that's what it comes to, he cannot be faulted for that.

Politics. No matter where your heart lies, in this kind of world you always have to consider the politics. Jiang Cheng has always been the one concerned with greater politics while Wuxian thinks he can get away with ignoring them.
The Jiang clan is much weaker since Cheng is still rebuilding it. All the clans are supposed to be "equals" now and working together but of course, the Jin clan is hugely rich and Guanshan is a backstabbing ass who will always manipulate everything he can to come put on top. Everyone knows it but he's sly about it and powerful so there's never a way to call him out without it backfiring on them.
Jiang is not wrong at this point. Everyone is scared of Wuxian's power and if they gang up on him Cheng cannot help - he'd lose all the new clan members (as in, get them all killed trying to fight). It's fine to say, "You should do this because it's morally right," but Cheng has to weigh the lives of his entire clan against the Wen refugees lives and the Jiang clan has already been wiped out once. Who is Cheng more responsible for protecting in this situation? Wuxian and the Wens or his entire clan? How many Jiang clan members' lives is he willing to sacrifice for Wuxian and the Wens? And since the Jiang clan is too small, they'd ALL end up dead - Wuxian, the Wens, and the entire Jiang clan. This is the position Wuxian has put him in (not on purpose).
Wuxian is still representing the Jiang clan at this point - what he does reflects on the whole clan. His actions can be used as an excuse to take the Jiang clan down. This is why Wuxian leaves the clan now. He does understand but he can't back down after taking responsibility for the Wen refugees.
Wen Ning at this point (in the past) is just a feral zombie. They never explain it in the show, but Wen Ning had fighting skills, he just was too shy and afraid, plus their branch of the Wens really are only healers. Once he's dead, all the rage of their unfair treatment, resentment for years of bullying, and other buried anger and fears is released. Still waters run deep, they say. Wen Ning had a ton of potential hidden inside of him. And yes, Wuxian did make him very strong with a ton of resentful energy. Right now, Wen Ning is a scary, scary "tool" on Wuxian's side.
Anyway, they're both hotheads (Wuxian and Cheng) and they're both right in their own way. Wuxian could have tried talking to people about the Wens - not all the clans would be in favor of treating them as slave labor. He and Cheng working together politically could have maybe found a better way to handle all this. But Wuxian is affected by his demonic cultivation - he's much quicker to anger, he's paranoid, and he's pushing everyone away. Wangji was so sad to see him like that :( He wants to keep Wuxian from hurting himself and others but Wuxian is sure Wangji wants to punish him...
Current Wuxian took the curse from Jin Ling but Mo Xuanyu's body is nowhere near as sturdy as his original one. Wuxian will never willingly fight Jiang Cheng - not full out. He understands why Cheng hates him (you'll see soon). Not that he's going to just lay down and die, but he won't risk hurting Cheng permanently or leaving Jin Ling without his uncle. This Wuxian has learned a lot of hard truths and he won't make the same mistakes this time (but he might make new ones, haha).
Having a phobia isn't rational. Wuxian will never stop being afraid of dogs - even Fairy who is the best doggo. Jin Ling is a tsundere, just like his dad :) He's starting to like "Mo Xuanyu" a little, but if he knew the truth...
Someone took Wen Ning and stuck some weird pins in his head. Don't assume who it was that put them there though. Oh, I suggest watching the MDZS Q short series between seasons 2 & 3 (that's when they aired). There are 30 episodes but they're really short, so you could do several at a time.
