Oh I see, lol sadly I already know they're going to date or something like that, but the process is quite fascinating😅.
Thanks for the explanation, I keep it in mind 😊

Xie Lian was dizzy from seeing the multi-face disease because of PTSD. The stuff (such as this epidemic) Bai Wuxian, the devil called White-Clothed Calamity, caused to his family and kingdom was horrible and very traumatizing.
Your description of Hua Cheng being “good bad” is very accurate, lol. The appearance we saw in this episode is actually not his real one — he changed clothes and face just a little bit for conspiracy and other reasons (even though Xie Lian will probably discover his identity anyways).
Also, Xie Lian probably didn’t buy any of those things, he just asked salesmen for any stuff they could kinda donate to the temple. After all, he’s a scrap-collecting God!
Wanted to mention something before you watch the next episode: there’s a big cultural tendency in China to call your friends/teachers/lovers with a wording, like “older/younger brother”, “older/younger sister”. It has a double meaning depending of the users’ circumstances. If a boy calls his male friend as “gege” it doesn’t means that he considers him a sibling, it means that he considers him a close OLDER friend. An english equivalent to it will be “bro”, for example.
On the other hand, if a girl calls her male lover “gege” it implies very intimate salutation with a flirtatious vibe.
In the future episodes Hua Cheng will constantly address Xia Lian as “gege” not only meaning that he’s respectful (Xie Lian is older than him), but also that he wants to subtly flirt😅
Eng translator, unfortunately, replaced this “gege” with a harsh “bro”, and the implication evaporated immediately.
Please, keep this information in mind when you watch the next episodes.
