Chapter 6 - I am Spider Tobey

Maybe you're confused because there's no location or date in the first few lines, but don't worry, it's only been a week since I built DUM-E.
Right now, I’m in a park because Aunt May kicked me out of the house. I had been holed up in the lab and skipped an entire week of elementary school. She banned me from staying in the workshop and only allowed me to go there once a week, on Saturday afternoons. The rest of the time, I was supposed to do "normal" things like going to class, playing, and making friends. Sigh Hehe, whatever. I had already expected this, so I spent this week making cameras and placing them in the lab. Using DUM-E, I created the new NOTSODUM-E, or as I call it, NSD-E... okay, I don’t actually call it that—I just call it Arm 2.
Arm 2 is more efficient and has legs like a spider’s, so I really shouldn’t call it an arm, but who’s going to stop me? Muhaha.
I also built a mini signal tower, which is extremely advanced and efficient, allowing me to connect to the lab with the AI chip from anywhere in New York.
In short, I can now see, control, and do anything I want in the lab as if I were there, using the AI chip. Thanks to my super-genius intellect, I can focus on two things at once—yes, basically, I have thought partitioning, hehe. It’s amazing. So, while I’m living a "normal" life, I’m also in my lab 24/7, advancing my world domination plans. Muhahaha. I’ve been doing a lot of evil laughter in my head these days... Ugh.
As I walked through the park, lost in these thoughts, I heard familiar footsteps approaching me.
"Hey, Pete!" a high-pitched, cute voice called out.
When I turned to the side, I was suddenly tackled by a blur of red hair hugging me.
"Hey, M.J.," I replied in a soft, affectionate voice.
Yep, that was Mary Jane Watson—my neighbor since we were six and an initial imprinting since the moment we laid eyes on each other.
Imprinting works differently than I expected. It only fully forms when we turn sixteen. Until then, it creates an extremely strong connection between us but without any sexual intent. In fact, quite the opposite—it suppresses any sexual desires we might have until the bond completes at sixteen.
I was really happy about this, honestly. Girls mature too fast, and if a little girl demanded certain things from me, I wouldn’t be able to handle it at all, which could end up breaking her heart. Fortunately, my bond prevents those situations, and I won’t get arrested by the multiversal FBI.
I learned about these imprinting characteristics when it first happened—probably some kind of information package that "Thor" attached to the wish.
My thoughts were suddenly interrupted because a certain little red-haired beauty was pouting at me in annoyance.
"What’s wrong, M.J.? Why are you mad?" I asked, confused.
"You disappeared for a week and didn’t tell me anything. When I asked your aunt and uncle, they told me you were in the lab, so I didn’t ask anymore—I was afraid they’d drag you out of there because of me," the little redhead said with a sad expression.
I admit, I was touched by her consideration. It really would have interfered with my plans if she kept asking my aunt and uncle about me. Honestly, Aunt May only let me skip a week of school because I’ve always been an excellent student and ahead of my classmates.
"Hehe, my M.J. is so cute and smart. How about I teach you a new song today?" I said, hugging her and rubbing our cheeks together with a smile.
"Wow, you promise? I’m so excited—AH, I just remembered! I told the other girls about you being in the lab too," M.J. said excitedly, then quickly realized she had just told my other imprints about my little escape.
Let’s not talk about my other imprints right now. Let’s focus on the redhead in front of me.
Mary Jane is a beautiful girl with red hair, fair skin, and blue eyes. She has an adventurous personality, always eager to discover and experience new things. Though she can be a bit indecisive, once she makes up her mind, she rarely changes it. The day we met, she was only six years old, but she was already adorable. Tobey’s Peter as a kid mistook her for an angel when he first saw her in canon, which shows how beautiful she was. But ever since we imprinted, she’s been growing even more stunning, and her hair has become even redder over time. The partial imprint doesn’t make her dazzling instantly—it’s a gradual process.
I admit, I never liked M.J. from Tobey’s universe in the movies, but in this world, with me, she’ll follow a different path.
Another difference with my M.J. is that she wants to be a singer, not an actress like in Tobey’s movie universe... I’ll just call it canon for convenience. Anyway, moving on.
After thinking about it, I realized it was my fault. The Mary Jane from the movies probably fell in love with acting because it was an escape from reality—after all, she had a bitter, pessimistic father waiting for her at home. Life had crushed him, turning him into a drunk and violent man.
But in my universe, I took care of her father a long time ago using some chemical mixtures and psychological techniques that essentially brainwashed him into loyalty to me. After all, I couldn’t leave a violent drunk near my future wife.
Once I had him under my control, I gave him orders like: "Stop drinking, dedicate yourself to work, take care of your family and put them first, strive to be better, eat healthily, exercise, be a responsible man."
Nowadays, his life is much better. Even though I didn’t do it to help a piece of trash like him, he ended up benefiting from it—he's happier now than ever. Mary Jane’s mother is also much happier, having a husband who truly loves and spoils her every day.
Because of that, Mary Jane never developed an interest in acting as a means to escape reality. Instead, she dedicated herself to her true dream—singing.
M.J. in canon also abandoned theater and became a singer, but due to certain incidents, she ended up as just a bar singer—something that won’t happen here. With my help and my knowledge of countless songs from another universe, I’ll train her to shine as a singer who will leave her name in history.
Mary Jane Watson, the Queen of Pop. Hmm... Sounds good to me.
