Chapter 25 - New Life in God of War

The elves had also begun training and venturing onto the battlefield, using the opportunity to train and tame wolves. As a result, elves with seven or eight wolves each could be seen on the battlefield.

Then there was Nymeria, a wolf queen, spoiled by elves who adored her, showered her with jewelry, and provided her with a legion of wolves under her command, a bowl of endless delicious food, and an unlimited hunting ground = happy wolf.

And Nymeria losing all of that = whining Nymeria.

Hyperion patted her nose and said:
"Stop whining. It's just a year or two, and you can go back to your pampering."

When the wolf heard "a year or two," she began to whimper and howl in sadness.

Hyperion could only roll his eyes and kick the spoiled wolf's rear.

But still, nothing.

Hyperion was helpless.

Kratos rolled her eyes, stepped forward, and shouted:
 "NYMERIA!"

With just one shout, the great wolf immediately stood up and remained silent, head lowered.

Hyperion pursed his lips and climbed onto the wolf. Soon, the three of them were on her back, and she started running.

Hyperion pulled Kratos onto his lap and asked, puzzled:
"How did you do that? I shouted seriously, and she didn't listen."

"She's a smart wolf. She knows that if she doesn't listen to you, you won't break her legs." Kratos replied.

Hyperion looked at Kratos in shock.
 "And you would?"

Hyperion was a little taken aback by the brutality his wife might have toward her pet. Freya and Faye were also shocked.

"I wouldn’t, haah, but I couldn't say that haah in front of her, haah she's a smart wolf, after all." Kratos said, still breathless from the intense activity.

Hyperion smiled happily at this, and soon something else got happy seeing her breathless.

And so, more steamy things happened.

..

.

Nymeria strode across the lakes of Vanaheim, walking on water.

At that moment, Hyperion sat atop her with Freya in his lap.

"Little rune, where should we go? Or should we explore like in the past?" Hyperion asked.

"Hmm… from what we saw in the game, there are many souls with regrets in Vanaheim, so we can explore and help them. And if we find Freyr, I'll explain things to him and then forgive him." Freya said after some thought.

Hyperion simply nodded and went back to chatting and teasing his women.

"Woof!"

After 30 minutes of walking, they saw a soul crying.

"Lyana!" Freya said softly.

"My goddess!" The soul gasped in surprise and then shouted joyfully upon seeing Freya.

"Lyana, why are you here?" Freya asked, melancholic at seeing her former servant dead—but not too much, as she knew she would soon bring the girl back to life.

"My goddess, those damned Aesir pursued us, and I ended up dropping the promise ribbon you gave me when you vowed to return to Vanaheim one day. Forgive me, my goddess. I lost the ribbon, and when I came back to try to find it, I was wounded in an ambush and died here. I couldn’t leave without seeing my goddess return to Vanaheim, so I've stayed here all this time. Now, I feel at peace and can go, knowing that Vanaheim is in good hands."

The soul began to dissipate and flowed into the river of souls.

Freya did nothing, as elves had already been tasked with maintaining and restoring the Vanir souls.

"That was easy. Normally, souls ask for more complicated things. The game didn't even present such an easy quest." Faye commented.

"They waited for me for a long time. In their eyes, this was not an easy request to fulfill." Freya said.

"The game also wouldn’t give players such simple quests." Kratos added her perspective.

They continued their journey and discovered several souls similar to the first.

"You were greatly loved as a ruler." Kratos said to Freya. They already knew this from both Freya and the game, but seeing it was an entirely different experience.

"They were my family. I treated them as my own blood." Freya said, melancholic and nostalgic.

"I don’t know whether to be happy or sad for them, considering how you were with Baldur." That was the idiot protagonist speaking.

Freya narrowed her eyes at Hyperion and punched him in the chest.

"Asshole!" Freya described her husband.

"Hahaha, calm down, dear. I'm joking. I know you were excellent!" Hyperion said, stroking his wife's head.

"You were? Does that mean I’m not anymore?" Freya narrowed her eyes even further.

Hyperion started sweating upon hearing that.

'Damn, women are too complicated,' Hyperion thought.

He had to pamper his wife a little to make up for his mistakes.

After calming Freya, they continued traveling for another month, helping the dead Vanir.

That day, they were atop Nymeria when they found themselves surrounded… as surrounded as five people could make a giant wolf.
