Comments

Hey bob I was trying to just send you a message but I don’t think I can so I’ll just ask here. I don’t know if many people have requested Bon Iver it’s not rap it’s alternative/indie but his last album was my Aoty last year it’s amazing, not to mention he had like 2 other albums that are considered classics now.

"i love her again" is about his love for hip hop. when he arrived in New York and was at the beginning of his rap career, the rap scene in New York was fading and this is when a new flavor of rap became to rise in the south in Atlanta, Soulja Boy introducing the "snap" and dance club rap music, while it was still on the rise a lot of people hated it and hated how it was changing rap. nowadays Atlanta is accepted as the biggest parts of rap and its new sound. just a little background on the song and to help explain some lyrics in the song

Hey Great Reaction Bob, just throwing in my thoughts on “What If”, Of course I think it’s about Biggie and Tupac and What could have been if they apologized, but I also think it correlates with his own situation, dropping a diss track on Kendrick, who he was once good friends with, only to come out an apologize for it and be criticized infront of the whole world. He took the Events of 2 of his greats as a lesson of how bad things can get and how fame and public disputes can get in the way of true feelings between friends, and decided he didn’t want that for himself. But it’s funny how most people will sit here and be like, if only buggy and PAC apologized and avoided the whole situation, they’d still be alive and have made great music, altered the timeline of hip hop (only because they know how it played out), But J Cole decided to be the bigger man and own his mistake and apologize for trying to be someone he’s not when he didn’t have hate for Kendrick, and people see it as a weak move and something to hurt his career. You never know how life plays out, he may have avoided a dangerous situation for himself, his family or Kendrick and his people. Also the parallel from him starting to rap as Biggy, and J Cole Leaving the Ville to launch his Career from New York, also the person he’s apologizing to being Kendrick, like PAC also from LA, it woulda been the same East vs West Coast beef. I also wonder if this song is how things played out behind the scenes, J Cole actually made amends with Kendrick friend to friend, or if what if is him reflecting how he damaged that relationship

I fuckin cried like a baby on quik stop, Cole was there for me when I got into college, when my dad almost passed, when my uncle passed recently, I always listened to Cole thru those moments. It’s almost like he described what I would say if I met him.

The video you're referring to is probably the Applying Pressure music video. At the end he talks to the camera

Its kinda sad you have let the numerous cole haters in your discord and your algorithm dictate how you consume his music.Thankfully most of the time you trust your instincts and you give us amazing reactions to his projects like this. But what if you had listened to all of his projects before his last one, what if you got your information about his story straight from the source ,what if.He really made a difference .Youre still the goat reactor though.
