Hey sir! Would be great if you do a reaction video to Care for Me by Saba. It's my favorite and imo most underrated hip hop album of the 2010s along with Big Fish Theory

2023-03-18 02:47:36 +0000 UTCWould love to see you react to a joey badass album. He embodies the New York boom bap sound from the 90’s and early 2000’s that you enjoy but is a relatively newer artist with his first body of work “1999” dropping in 2012 when he was 17 years old. Would be an interesting listen.

2023-02-22 18:18:28 +0000 UTCMac also took Kendrick out to open for him back in the day, as well as many others. He really had a love for the music. Still my favorite artist to this day

2023-02-20 16:22:17 +0000 UTCReally good album. I can see why some people aren't into it given the production. I can see some purists not getting onboard. But I love it 👍

2023-02-18 19:42:05 +0000 UTCEveryone talking about SOPHIE but every producer did his thing on here, plus Yeah Right would be nothing with the iconic overblown Flume bass
Christopher Bloom
2023-02-18 08:36:21 +0000 UTCTaking this rare moment to say that same production on Yeah Right you will also find in “Hi, This is Flume” a fully cohesive and highly regarded album by the producer of that track Flume that was made in the same time period and also comes with a full visual companion on YouTube (https://youtu.be/7TML_MTQdg4) that is out of this world and would honestly be fun to watch you and your wife react to!

2023-02-18 04:06:33 +0000 UTCalso RIP SOPHIE. an incredible producer with her own distinct style. she had a lot of influence on flume, you should check out her music as well
Henry
2023-02-18 04:04:49 +0000 UTCgod damn bob i was so hyped to see this reaction. I love vince, I love this album. I hope you can check out more flume as well, he produced "yeah right". I grew up a hip hop head but flume has become my favorite producer no question, despite him being an electronic producer. "hi this is flume" is an incredible mixtape if you ever get the chance to check it out. his style is so strange and different, and the mixtape includes a feature from jpeg mafia (as an incentive for you to listen). He also has a few tracks with vince staples and their all great. Have a good holliday weekend bob

2023-02-18 04:01:48 +0000 UTCWAY off topic, but since you mentioned it in the reaction I just had to agree. The Amy Winehouse story is one of the most tragic, sad, but equally angering deaths in all of entertainment. Her music was so beyond timeless and it truly is a shame. But how the record execs didn't give af about her mental health, and her addiction, and made her do shows when she was completely wasted out of her mind is so messed up. And that's not even nearly all of it. Her music will absolutely last forever though. That voice will never go out of style. A random fact. Mac Miller was a huge part of his early success. He would hang out at Mac's house with Tyler the Creator, Earl, and the whole crew. They always tried to get Vince to rap but he just wouldn't. But then Mac made a bunch of beats for him, told him they are for free, to start making some songs, and sort of jump-started his career at that time. Also took him on tour so he could get used to how they go and stuff. Pretty sure Tylers first big tour was with Mac as well. I could be wrong, but I do know it was early in Tyler's career. Also, if you haven't, you should absolutely check out Vince Stapes in The Cave episode. Dude it actually one of the funniest people I have seen. He has such quick and smart wit, that is rare to find in many people.

2023-02-18 03:30:53 +0000 UTCkendrick says the 211 line on Yeah Right exactly at 2:11 in the song. Funny easter egg

2023-02-18 03:23:42 +0000 UTCsuch a cool album I'm glad you vibed with it! really looking forward to seeing you do more vince in the future. PS you don't have to react to it but since you liked the production on this album so much you should check out the artist Kaytranada if you haven't already.
yeah
2023-02-18 00:51:12 +0000 UTCYeah it came out a couple years after yeezus, i also can see the influence there. People are always going on about how influential 808's was, rightfully so, but i think in recent years the influence yeezus had is starting to show itself more and more.

2023-02-18 00:36:28 +0000 UTCSuper excited to see this pop up, I love this album and Vince's music, have lost count of the number of times I've seen him live. This album is so underappreciated, one of the most interesting projects of the last 10 years, production is top notch and he brings the bars. You touched on it a little at the end, but Vince's flow on this record really flies under the radar. He's such a good storyteller that I often find myself caught up in the lyrics of this album or the incredible production but he raps so cohesively over these weird, electronic beats. It kind of reminds me of 90s trip-hop/Massive Attack kind of stuff, but he absolutely kills it. Prior to this he showed that he could kill the grimy gangster stuff on HCW and Summertime and then again on this crazy creative project. Such a well rounded artist. In regards to the last track "rain comes down" the Sphinx's nose is said to have been shot off, not just fallen off, so ties in more closely with the violence in the surrounding lines.

2023-02-17 23:46:39 +0000 UTCIf you ever want to react to another album by Vince Staples you should do Summertime 06' which describes his life at the age of 13 and his mindset at the time. kind of a prelude to Big Fish with its uneasy, claustrophobic , dark atmosphere. Its probably one of the most in depth albums if you wanted to understand more how Vince Staples upbringing was like.

2023-02-17 23:41:27 +0000 UTCThis album is great, just not for me. I recognize how cool it is production-wise and lyrically and I've listened to it several times over the years but it's never really hit me like "oh damn this is good music!". Same goes for most of Vince's discography, actually. But I do love his flow!

2023-02-17 23:31:16 +0000 UTCThat pocket Vince finds at the end of verse 2 on Big Fish is incredible. Gets a stank face from me every time.

2023-02-17 21:43:45 +0000 UTCI’m so happy you loved this album. Legitimately one of the most under appreciated albums of the last decade. Super critically acclaimed, but for some reason kind of forgotten. Top 5 hip hop album for me of the past decade.
