Live Streaming Album Reactions
Added 2022-09-13 03:23:25 +0000 UTCWonderful Patrons, I come with a question.
Now that I've setup my Twitch account well enough to use it, how do you—paying customers of uncut content—feel about my potentially live streaming my Friday album reactions (while also recording to post onto Patreon, of course)?
My concern is that in doing a livestream, those of you who pay for uncut reactions would feel cheated in some way due to that content being temporarily available for free during the stream. There's also the risk (I guess?) of someone recording the live stream and posting it elsewhere for their own use? Though I don't know how concerned I should be about something like that...
However, be aware that my album reactions do not earn me money on YouTube. All of those videos are copyright claimed by the record companies. So the livestream option could be a potential source of revenue.

2022-09-24 20:09:08 +0000 UTCYea the whole point of livestreaming is to entertain the chat, so if you are looking for growth from that, it will be hard. I look at Fantano and the way he reacts to music when hes focused on chat or not and its a completely different experience. Groupthink is real and affects us in ways we dont comprehend

2022-09-15 19:36:12 +0000 UTCI obviously can’t control what you choose (and want the best for you as a creator). The only thing I wanted to add was I stopped watching one of my old favorite reactors because his videos became half interactions with twitch chat, which is great for the live viewers but annoying for someone who likes just the pure reaction and thoughts on the music. It would be hard to separate these two if you were streaming on twitch while doing it.It might be fun if you managed to do an entire reaction with chat closed and opened it after giving your initial thoughts on the album.
2022-09-14 04:02:03 +0000 UTCfantano's chat makes his live reactions unbearable for me. Can't stand twitch chat pushing its opinions. Bob's wouldn't be as bad but still not a good idea imo.

2022-09-14 03:29:31 +0000 UTCLike other ppl said streaming for singles and music videos might be better idea bc with there being so many artists ppl want you to react to, it’s the best compromise to getting to hear a lot of other artists

2022-09-14 02:03:50 +0000 UTCI'm pretty sure fantano does that kinda thing. Reacts on stream, puts full vod behind a pay wall, then uploads edited segments on YouTube. I wouldn't feel cheated personally but I wonder how it will change reactions. Like reacting too much to chat and stuff like that

2022-09-14 02:00:16 +0000 UTCI pay here because I enjoy your content. My support doesn’t preclude you from other streams of income.
2022-09-14 01:17:38 +0000 UTCYeah, as long as you aren’t reacting to chat. Might be better if you just use twitch for other things like music vid reactions etc tho

2022-09-13 22:35:14 +0000 UTCI think that if you really want to stream you can stream and react to singles or music videos instead of full album reactions, maybe something like song requests, get a queue going and people can add a song to that queue. This could be a really good way of discovering artists you hadn't heard before.

2022-09-13 16:39:09 +0000 UTCI personally think that maybe stream it over discord so that only patreon people could see it and we still get the live stream. I think that doing it on twitch would kinda defeat the purpose of the patreon in a sense. I think that doing it in discord and have a limit to how many people could join might work as well if you made the voice call available only during the stream.

2022-09-13 16:13:24 +0000 UTCMy only concerns are these. At least for me the reason I pay for Patreon is I like the personality and content of a reaction on YouTube I want to see uncut reactions to similar artists by this person. Your videos are pretty lengthy. And that's cool, I like your format. That being said I think this will double that because you'll be looking at comments. Someone always has Fantano's live streams reposted. I'm waiting for more JID reactions from you. I know it ain't coming this month, so why pay for another month if the uncut reactions gonna be on YouTube for free. You do a great job. In the end I'll still watch your reactions. God bless!

2022-09-13 15:04:52 +0000 UTCWhy would I pay for patreon if I can just watch the stream VOD?
