Really damn good

Bob_the_Poppop

:)

Bob_the_Poppop

lol such a great line

Bob_the_Poppop

I see this album as danny sitting in a dark dingy motel room just getting fucked up and I think from the ground serves as a moment of clarity for danny amidst all of the chaos, same for tell me what I don't know

Genesis Osuna

Control System & Cilvia Demo fit in really well with what he’s already listened to.

Kashon Garner

I see From The Ground as a "breather" in an otherwise wild album. It wasnt as clear for me the first listen, but as I sat through the album multiple times after that I noticed that the relentless flows and beats would exhaust me a bit, and I REALLY started to appreciate From The Ground and its placement in the tracklist. Just my opinion tho. Also wild how you wound up not enjoying my two favorite tracks Lost and Pneumonia lmao

K.W

Danny is set to drop two albums sometime soon. One is with Peggy and the other one is Quaranta which is a follow up to XXX. Before you listen to any of those you should check out his last album uknowwhatimsaying? which is more of a mature Danny

Alex Bernhardt

Dude you gotta watch the music video for Ain't It Funny, reaction or not: https://youtu.be/7L4JnAuW00k

jofo48

You should react to "u know what I'm saying?" sometime before the next album drops.

Braden

When It Rain is one of my favorite songs ever. Detroit techno incorporated perfectly

adiiiiiiiii

Also the placement of Get Hi might seem off, but if you look at it like Danny says in the song "It's only for the moment but the problems go away", after all the heavy subject matter Danny dealt with and shared on the album, he uses drugs again, but this time to relax, but it doesn't fix anything, he's still knee-deep in paranoia and drug addiction after the weed high (the song) ends, at the end of the song you can hear how the hazy and relaxed feeling falls apart and slowly descends into darkness as it transitions to the grim but real Hell For It, Get Hi is the happy feel good illusion of the album.

Christopher Bloom

He said in an interview he didn't, he was even more high during the creation of that album, even though the sound is way more sober

Christopher Bloom

Hope you do some TDE members other than Kendrick soon, Ab Soul especially, his features are hit or miss but Control System is a classic

Christopher Bloom

I'm glad you want to listen to 'Lost' again, it's one of my favorites on the album and despite the short length of the track I actually think it's sonically and conceptually one of the most interesting tracks here, it's really fucking trippy and cool, this entire album is just incredible so it's awesome you finally got to it.

Lil Mac

This album is in my top 5 for sure, I feel like I've been recommending this album to you for a year. I know when this hit the scene it really set the bar for experimental hip hop. Nobody had heard anything like this before. of course now there are so many who have taken influence from Danny brown, please check out my this great interview from him, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ry_G1xvsB2A

Mohammad Moeladawilah

This is my favorite Danny Brown project and one of my favorite hip hop albums of all time. I consider it to be “post hip-hop” it’s definitely based in on hip hop but it’s not bogged down by ANY stereotypes and pushes the boundaries for what it can even sound like

CAPART

I'm sending myself $5

Shawn Harden

Oh snap, a 2-hour reaction to this album. Fuuuuuuuuck. Yesssssss.

Scott Watrous

He did release another album after this one too. It's called "uknowhatimsayin¿" and I think he had started living a more clean life by then.

Samu Tolvanen

Please react to the new JID album

James Cleary

Big time agree- Bob, you need to show the wife and film a reaction

Ian Lewis

there's no reaction i want more than the next two earl albums. i really think Bob will love his style and maturation in writing more than any rapper this side of danny/jpeg. Plus, the beats on I Don't Like Shit are grimy, distorted, dark, and downright addictive. Here's hoping you do Earl next month Bob!

adiiiiiiiii

Hell for it made me feel the exact same way! To answer your thought about how Danny is doing - I think he's doing just fine in fact he has a great podcast out right now and he posts funny clips his instagram! He also had a Vice series called "Danny's House" that is great. PS - As a huge Earl fan, you enjoying his verse and writing on Aint it Funny made me super excited for you to hear his next projects! Early prediction - "Some Rap Songs" will be your favorite Earl album.

yeah

W, my vinyl for Roadrunner came in a few days ago

Cullen Hendricks

I’m really glad you reacted this this one. It’s one of my all time favorite albums. I know you haven’t had time to watch Dead End Hip Hop’s videos before, but I HIGHLY suggest you watch a couple of their videos regarding this album. https://youtu.be/8Y13pG_wTq0 - A first impression video of the song Really Doe, which was a single that released a week before the album. Since you loved the track so much it’ll be cool for you to see what other people thought of it right after listening to it for the first time. https://youtu.be/l4iQTQyoRfs - Their review for the album. They touch on stuff that might interest you like: why do people find the album so experimental, why does Danny Brown not get talked about enough, and other general pointers that you may not have picked up on. Watching these two video will only take a half hour of your time and I think you’d be a huge fan of DEHH’s content if you find time to watch them.

Tyree Harris

He should start with his other albums IMO

CRASH

straight bonkers

Litty Again

Bob, I think we need an EMERGENCY REACTION! JID - The Forever Story just came out and it is easily an album of the year contender and a must-listen!

Shane Harkness

The Alchemist has an 5 track EP called “This Thing Of Ours 2” which has a track featuring Danny and the rest of bruiser brigade. It’s from last year I’d def give it a listen

Cullen Hendricks

You know, since you like Danny Brown and Jpegmafia so much, maybe you can finally check out brockhampton? Their most recent album has features from both artists 👀 The sooner you start listening to them the sooner you get to that album

CRASH

seriously 10/10. everything you could want from a danny video.

Psykopomp

Haven't watched yet but $5 on Ain't It Funny being Bob's favorite

Shawn Harden

Definitely watch the Ain't it Funny music video at some point. It's insane.

Callie D
