Listened to it 119 times that year and it never got old - especially the chorus that functions as a mantra just repeating over and over again that the past and the past and it’s time to let go of everything we were clinging to and be the best version of ourselves

2022-08-19 21:43:01 +0000 UTCKnew you would love this album. It came out at a time I was in a really dark place and helped me get through those emotions and feelings. I used to play it on repeat all day every day. Like you said it is like a mantra, and Reborn is a track I revisit whenever I have a bad day or have an inckling that the dark place is coming back. It helps me keep my mind at peace. I've recommended this song to many friends when they have been going through a tough time and although none have come back to me to confirm it helped, I just hope even for those few minutes of them listening to the song, they felt even just a little bit better.

2022-08-19 21:11:22 +0000 UTCInteresting thing on "4th Dimension": I think this one of the rare moments where reading the lyrics as you listen for the first time actually detracts from the intent of the track, specifically the lyrics of the sample used. Sometimes when a sample is used the intention isn't for you to actually know what it says it's moreso for the overall aesthetic of the song, basically it just sounds cool lol. Then you have other times where the producer will manipulate the sample in such a way that it sounds like it's saying something it actually isn't, times like that I think it's better (& the intent) to just hear it as a part of the overall instrumental.
