Mariah is the reason why I have this channel and why I fell in love with music. I started playing piano and fell in love with it after hearing We Belong Together and from then I stayed in music from secondary school and eventually applied to go to music college after failing my A-levels lol.
So to say I know this womans voice and catalogue inside out is an UNDERESTATEMENT. Hence why I can reference some of her older works in this reaction. I was torn because though it's always exciting to hear new music from her, the Mariah I know has not been the Mariah I've seen in the last 2 or so years. She has seemed much more reserved and at times out of it which has been worrying so I hope once this era is done she can have some well earned rest!
She's managed to still deliver an interesting body work irregardless of all that. I don't think it surpasses Caution, TEOM or Butterfly which are the holy trinity of her BEST work but I certainly enjoyed it more than Rainbow looool.

2025-09-28 19:13:36 +0000 UTCI’ve made my peace with the fact that she’s grown older and her music and voice won’t be the same. It was a decent album over all. Also, I thought “I won’t allow it” sounded like “Make it Happen” but your comparison to that other song makes more sense lol.
