He was discovered and Ned was to execute him so he fled to Essos, but had the good sense to leave his ancestral valerian steel sword, which was returned to his father.

2026-01-22 14:57:39 +0000 UTCPersonally, I don't like that Jon bent the knee, and I especially don't like how. Everything he said when he met Deanerys at the start of the season was still true. If all that he needed for his loyalty was sacrifice and people risking their lives for him and his men, he would have bent the knee to Stannis after he saved him and the Watch from the wildlings. I think it makes more sense for him and Daenerys to be equals. And it would stay true to his character at the start of the season. I mean, come on, he was elected (by nobles only, sure, but that's how old-fashioned republics did it), so I don't think it's right for him to step down without their input. I agree with Alicia: if it were just a marriage between an equal King and Queen, I think people would be better at accepting it, and Jon would still have enough authority to challenge Daenerys. We would never get democracy in this world, but co-monarchs at least give us some form of discussion, not just one mind deciding everything. Also, it's not a spoiler as it was revealed last season, but you guys don't seem to realise how closely related they are. She is his aunt. Not stages of removal or half-blooded BS. Her full brother was his real father, though he is still older than her so it isn't as bad as it sounds.
