2025-12-05 04:45:04 +0000 UTCThey literally had two plots running next to each other about the common population being in conflict with the ruling royals in King's landing and Danny's thing. And the point is that amount of soilders or even dragons really can help you when the people themselves turn on you. Danny tried to deal with the same problem with pure force and threats and it just kept making everything worse for herself. Jeffrey would've done the same. There is no version where. Again it's lit the same plot. In one the ruler/Danny responds to the rising dissatisfaction in her city by being all "I'm the mother of dragons, fuck you Ill feed you to my children" and her army kept getting bleed out by fruit stand sellers and literal prostitutes. The sons of the harpy are an insurgency who are receiving some form of funding by people who want to see Danny fail, but at the end of the day are just are regular people. It's why getting the red priestess was so important, because this kind of threat isn't one you can solve by military power. They don't mention this in the show but, there are a ton of times when angry common mobs went as far as kill dragons in the Seven Kingdoms. It's largely the reason why Drone is the one of the seven that kept their titles, and it happened a lot whenever one of Danny's ancestors fucked up badly enough. And that's the point. Even literal dragons can be killed by regular people with pitchforks and rocks if they are angry enough.
