Grow Your Own Sprouts + Green Goddess Salad

Sprouts are one of the most nutritious foods in the world, some of the amazing benefits of sprouts are:

To grow your own sprouts, the materials you will need are

1 32 oz mason jar

1 sprouting lid (you can buy them at your local health food store, or here online https://www.amazon.com/Sprouting-Jar-Strainer-Lid-Growing/dp/B000WRZODY

1-2 TBSP of sprouting seeds (You can usually find these at your local health food store)

Day One: Place your sprouting seeds into your 32 oz mason jar and fill to the top with water. Leave this to soak for 8 hours or overnight.

Day Two: Drain the water out of the jar (make sure your sprouting lid is securely on) and place upside down in a bowl

Day 3-5: Rinse and drain your sprouts once a day

Day 6: On the last day, you can place them in the sun all day, so they become green and beautiful.  This is optional, but i like them better this way:)To store your sprouts, remove the sprouting lid, and replace it with a normal mason jar lid, and place in the fridge.  Eat your sprouts right away, alternatively when refrigerated they will stay good for 4-5 days

Gut Friendly Fermented & Sprouted Salad Recipe

1 head of broccoli

1 cucumber

1 jar of homemade sprouts

1 bunch of kale

1 cup of dry short grain brown rice (i've also used quinoa, and it tastes amazing as well)

1 cup of Sauerkraut

1 bunch cilantro

1 bunch green onions

Sauce:

1 cup tahini

1 cup coconut amnios

1 cup apple cider vinegar

Cook the rice with one part rice, two parts water. Chop the broccoli, cucumber, kale, cilantro, green onions.  Place in a bowl.  Add the sprouts and sauerkraut to the bowl.  Add the sauce ingredients to a jar, screw the lid on, and shake until creamy.  pour the sauce into the salad and massage the dressing into the salad with your hands until everything is incorporated together.   Once the rice has cooked, mix it into the salad, and serve.
I love this salad sooo much, its great on hot summer nights when your craving something light!  The sprouts and sauerkraut also make this great for your digestion and gut health.
