BTS in a Galaxy Tab far, far away.... & a galactically important update!
Added 2025-04-29 18:35:22 +0000 UTCHello there!
So, firstly, I'm going to kindly ask for your patience over the next couple of weeks, but promise you it will be worth it. More on that in a second.
But first, have you heard that the cinema re-release of a little flick I worked on back in 2004-2005 called Revenge of the Sith has just become the biggest ever re-release with an opening weekend box office of $30M!? Now, I don't get a penny of that, but it's just cool that something so many people put so much of their hearts into, is loved. To celebrate, here's a little backstage photo. Lucasfilm share this sort of thing with actors as you can see "for your personal use only", but we're all best friends and up close 'n' personal, right?

That's from when Anakin is sitting on his own in the Jedi Temple, thinking of Padme, across the stars.
If you go and watch the movie I hope you love it. Look out for my left hand force pulling Anakin's lightsaber back, on Mustafar, and other little moments that you'll never notice but can have fun knowing I was there. Oh here's another; when Hayden is listening to Palpatine near the end, talk about how, 'every single Jedi, including your friend Obi Wan Kenobi, is now an enemy of the Republic', you can smile knowing I was actually reading the lines to Hayden off camera during the reshoots, so he's actually staring at me. Trust me though, I'm not a dark lord of the Sith. No really, I promise <mild cackle>.
Moving on, for a little while I have alluded to some commercially sensitive (okay TOP SECRET!) happenings going on behind the scenes in our world, and I have said a few times that I can't wait to share more. To be clear, these aren't the Knight Rider happenings (of which there are two), nor are they Star Wars ones, but they are the retrocomputing ones.
Originally I had thought that I'd need to keep that secret until around July, but I have decided that I owe it to you guys to start telling the story sooner. And so, in 2-4 weeks, I hope to share with you Part 1 of what will become an ongoing series that is by far the biggest thing I have ever done! Gulp. However, in order to get that into shape, I need to just focus on actually making that video instead of other ones, and other behind-the-scenes necessaries now I'm back, so that I can keep shaping what that story will become at the same time. Trust me, it'll be worth hanging around for to get the inside scoop!
Okay so that's that, and now from Star Wars and secret wars to another Galaxy... Speaking of scooping out insides, in the meantime a Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 that we have relied on for many years as part of making The Π―Retro Show had started to bloat and pop its own screen off. Turns out we'd been feeding it too much Tab soda. But also, its battery was expanding. So before it blew the Π―R kitchen up, I decided to replace the battery. It wasn't as easy as I had hoped, but I thought I'd bring you along for the musical ride, should you so wish to join me!
That's all for now, but as always, I'll be back! Thank you for your ongoing support and may the Force be with you ππΉοΈ

Oh no, when Peri came back to the UK on his holiday and realised all his beloved childhood shops are now mobile phone repair shops and vape shops, it converted him to non retro tech π±π

2025-05-03 10:25:20 +0000 UTCHaha I was stuck at a few points - you might notice even the fast forward got slow at moments. Now, I did have footage to refer back to, but it would've meant stopping the recording D'oh!

2025-05-01 13:16:01 +0000 UTCI'm always impressed with how easy you seem to make it look! I'd be taking lots of photos, forget to put things back or not have the confidence to even start in the first place!
