His high notes are widely acknowledged among kpop fans but few who aren’t his fans specifically know that he has the best supported lower register not just in Exo but among probably all kpop tenors. It’s more showcased in his solo music, like the OST “Rainfall,” or his song “Mirage of Flower” from his Japanese album Polaris (same album as “Light of my Life”). Both of those songs are dark and haunting. Mirage of Flower in particular has blues elements. Btw, are you guys planning on checking out the CBX subunit. I think you’ll enjoy their second album Blooming Days. Good mix of songs and of course great vocals by Chen, Baekhyun and Xiumin.
