Early bird: The ЯRetro Show / Amiga Disk Rescue

Dear Supporters

Please enjoy your early access of next Saturday's video! It's the first try at incorporating a Quick Bytes as the highlight within an episode of The ЯRetro Show, in that true British TV "and coming up!..." magazine format.

Also something to note is that as I start to build up a nice little stockpile of videos ahead of time, you'll see me referencing videos that are "now" with early access supporters (that's you!) However, because this is even earlier access of that early access, the ZZAP! 64 video I reference herein, isn't actually with you yet. So please ignore and accept my apologies for such references... At least it will whet the appetite :-)

Thank you for your ongoing support. 👍🕹

Wonderful story! Do you happen to have any photos from that event? My parents also used to make little treasure hunts for me. Wonderful times. I will do the same for my kids one day. When I’m grown-up and have kids that is.

I remember my first Atari VCS Christmas - was my best surprise ever, so the story. It would have been 1980/81 and I used to wait until my parents went to bed on Christmas Eve, wait a little while then sneak downstairs to look at my presents ….. Could not find my Atari console anywhere and sulked back to bed…. Got up hours later and trudged downstairs with my parents and started to open my presents… leaving a small one till last….. This last present was a little box, this had a note in, saying “your gran’s present is in the front bedroom….” Upon which I raced upstairs, sliping and sliding in my socks, burst into the room and there, under a sheet was a 22” tv with a wooden table in front of plug with the Atari setup along with Space Invaders cartridge….. Needless to say I never left that room until early Boxing Day morning when the Atari stopped working…. Power pack had burnt out…. Aargh In those days, shops were closed for quite a few days around Christmas so had to wait 2 more days to get to the shops to return the power pack for an exchange….. Hope you like this story and can relate to this 👍

“Hooray!!” <- me when you recovered your disks. I wish I would have kept my old Commodore 64 as well...but my parents always seemed to give my stuff to my cousins, never to be seen again. Thanks for reminding me of the times I’d take stacks of 3.5s into our basement to drill holes into them. That reminded me of the 5 1/4” disk notchers we had back then. You should make RR branded disk notchers and give them away as prizes.
