Dear Supporters of a certain tier,
Well I've been having a ball churning out videos for you every week, however this week I'm playing catch up with several things and working on the biggie: "I've Got Worms!" That means there likely won't be a main video this week, but I did want to give you the above exclusive insider preview!
What you see there is the entire Team 17 treasure trove that was donated to us by one of Team 17's original Worms 1 developers, including:
- Fully loaded original Team 17 developer Amiga 4000/040 from the UK
- Team 17 developer Amiga 4000/030 (UK)
- Team 17 developer 1084 monitor (UK)
- 10+ hard drives in varying degrees of operational status including one labeled "Games Testing"!
- Intact data recovered includes original FMV mesh files that we were able to re-animate! You'll see that in the video.
- Original artwork sketches from Worms 1
- Team 17 compliment slips & letterheads
- E3 display posters, rocket ship, ID badge & promo items (including branded condoms?!)
- Team 17 backup cassette tapes containing goodness knows what
- Team 17 floppy disks
- Team 17 employment contract
- And much more
Against great odds and weeks of troubleshooting I've managed to back up and recover as much as has been feasible. The plan is to make the virtual HD files available to load in the WinUAE Amiga emulator, for anyone to play with. However I did start to feel as though I was spoiling others' fun the more data I found, so I have left some things unexplored as any good adventurer should.
Currently I'm in talks with Team 17's CEO as to whether they wish to reacquire this historic haul, in return for a donation to charity. Or maybe we'll do a contest or charity auction. More info to come!
Thanks for your ongoing support, and I'll be back later this week with a seperate little treat for you.
