Blog: Short work week (06/06/22 - 06/09/22)
Added 2022-06-09 23:50:27 +0000 UTCHi all - This week is a short work week because I'm going out of town for my birthday! But things are shaping up nicely around Gaming Historian HQ. Let's get started.
Monday, June 6th

Today, I recorded all the game footage for the "Nintendo on Atari" video! I used the Analogue NT, which is able to emulate Atari 2600 games in 1080p. It's an extremely convenient, easy way to record these older games.
I think my favorite out of all the games was either Donkey Kong or Sky Skipper. Popeye was also good, but pretty challenging. Donkey Kong Jr was probably the worst (as seen on the screenshot above).
I also had to record the original arcade versions of the games as well. For this, I used MAME. Some of the games took a bit to get working, but I got it all.
Tomorrow, I'll record the narration on-camera and get started on editing!
Tuesday, June 8th

Narration is complete for the "Nintendo on Atari" video! I'll start editing this video right away. I've already got all the game capture recorded so it should be a fairly easy edit.
Meanwhile, the Microsoft video is just about wrapped up! It should be available to you all in the coming days.
Wednesday, June 8th
Sad times, I had to re-record the narration! I had auto-focus turned on and it kept going in and out while I narrated. So this time around, I set it to manual and everything went great.
In addition, a rough draft of the Microsoft video is done. It turned out well! We will make a few changes and then release it here on Patreon.
Thursday, June 9th
Today, I wrote up some feedback for the Microsoft video that Luis edited. I also recorded more Super Mario Kart footage and cleaned up the Nintendo on Atari narration I recorded on Wednesday.
Well folks, this weekend, I turn the big 3-5. As a present, Kristin planned a little out-of-town getaway! We will be going to a bunch of different museums and hopefully eating some delicious food.
As a reminder, there will be no blog post next week. But I will make sure to post the Microsoft video when it is ready.
Have a great weekend!
