Requests Center - December/2020
Added 2020-12-23 00:33:44 +0000 UTCHey guys! Just an idea I recently had for keeping track of possible projects and personal requests.
Every month I'll create a post called "Requests Center" where we will be able to discuss the current requests and you all will also be able to make requests directly on this post -- it can be anything, within my skills.
How it works:
- I'll post current requests, the status of them (if it's planned, if it's work in progress, if it's complete, if it's not possible for some reason, etc.)
- Any patron will be able to make a request on the comments or include a support message (such as "I support this", "I like the AAA idea", etc.)
- Each request will be commented by me, such as how feasible is the request, the complexity, if I already had such idea, if it would take too much or not such much time, etc.
- Next month I'll include all commented requests and adds to the current one, plus comment about their progresses. This post will normally be made around day 20-30 of the month.
Current requests/projects work in progress:
- SA-1 Pack for Super Mario World v1.40: code is pretty much complete, it's planned to be released soon. Because the system is focused for ROM hacks, it's required a bit more of thought since some of the changes to the core may end up being permanent to not break compatibility with SMW ROM hacks. However once the system is done I believe the SMW engine equipped with SA-1 Pack will be just powerful as Super Mario Maker.
- SA-1 Root for Super R-Type: under planning. I got two trace logs from SA-1 collection project and I'm analyzing them.
- FastROM for Super Castlevania IV: I have finished it but according the tests it wasn't efficient enough to remove any slowdown.
Have any requests? Comment below!
Updae: Requests made so far:
- U.N. Squadron/Area 88 --> requires SA-1 Collection traces + a video with slowdown scenes for better analysis. Need to check if the game already uses FastROM or not.
- Super Castlevania IV FastROM --> I just released it under https://github.com/VitorVilela7/fastrom
- Axelay --> Got SA-1 Collection analysis, more would be welcome. Added it to the list.
- Contra III hardware update --> Added to the list.
