New release date

Hey guys,

We have decided to release the patch this Friday (tomorrow). The reason for this is very simple, while the patch is "functional", once we realized we wouldn't be able to hit the Halloween deadline and the "crunch time goggles" went away, there were a lot of things I saw that I wasn't happy with.

The way we make the game is, I write the game, then I make maps, then I explain Issac how I want things to process and he works on creating all the events with placeholders while I write the hentai scenes, and once I'm done, I go event by event changing the dialogue to what you guys see. 

Now, obviously there are some things that don't look exactly how I wanted or he doesn't understand what I meant and we have to go back and change (this is the part that is much faster with him around since I can literally explain everything and point to stuff on screen) and after all this, he creates the CG room scenes and puts them there.

Sadly, Issac is not as observant as I am and that's why sometimes some silly bugs go through, because we have such limited to do as much as we do that only one of us has time to "properly" test the game and that's the person who is actually creating the events. I only "play" the patches a few days after they are out so I've had a few days to forget some of what I wrote or the sequence of events and try to analyze and appreciate the patches from a user point of view.

Well, as a developer, there's always a lot of things that you want to change "later on", moreover if you don't create the events and decide how things play out, so that's what we were doing for the Final Version, I was changing events, dialogues, hentai scenes, I'm sure you guys noticed that Melvin's route is vastly different, specially so if you take the Clarke's route he's more aggressive towards rape-ish, while he is more... trying to trick Ayame in the general path.

Well, for this Halloween, once I noticed the game wouldn't come out, I played it, analyzed everything and thought "well, since we're gonna have a few more days might just as well make it better" so that's what I've been doing by myself (since Issac only came back to work today), and I noticed a lot of things. 

For starters, I noticed the color code for the "spies" dialogue is inconsistent all throughout the game, that means they have color code (for their name dialogue box) 10 when you talk to them in the university, 2 when Eve is having sex with the Voyeur and 6 during the Halloween minigame, meaning, we had to go back and change aaaall their dialogue both in game and CG room so it would be consistent. I know this won't mean much to most of you but I'm sure that a good number is versed in RPG Maker enough to understand what I mean and can check this by yourselves in an older version of the game.

I know this is something that is incredibly silly and it's the type of thing that happens when you're not working on a game by yourself, you tend to leave this for others and well, sometimes people are not as detail oriented or assertive as you and shit happens, but it's only a very small downside in comparison to what we can and HAVE accomplished as a team for 5 years and counting. I think we have proven how serious and how dedicated we have been in the almost 6 years of development and dedication to this community and above all, our fans. It's a work in progress, we will come back and make it better, every time.

I also rested. I was... exhausted. I'm not saying "very tired", I mean exhausted, both mentally and physically. We went from the crunch time of releasing the patch 1.0 (two patches in a row that came out exactly the day we mentioned and we made time for beta testing), to trying to improve a whole game in 2 weeks for 1.01, to juggle that with Halloween and try to release everything pronto. Usually, we're kinda tired the whole year, I don't even have vacations, not that they'd be any useful during these pandemic circumstances but to sleep,  but God, I need sleep and with all the stress, pressure and anxiety it's been hard guys...

We've been on crunch time for a month and a half! That means work work work work mentality 24 hours a day. When I missed the Halloween release date, I was frustrated, irritated, exhausted, and I put my arms down and slept, probably more in three days than the last two weeks altogether (although I can't blame that on work and stress alone, gotta give the guys that live above me and decided winter would be a good time to start fixing their leaking roof and my cat their fair share of the blame on this).

My batteries are somewhat recharged, we have a few more changes to make, I want to improve the vampire crypt map as well as improving the environment in some other maps, add some new soundtrack songs that were released this Halloween, change a few dialogues in the hentai scenes and altogether make a better patch worth a small delay for.

Sorry for that and this wall of text, tomorrow we'll have a patch.
