Dealing with a moral dilemma.
Added 2017-11-14 15:03:44 +0000 UTCSo here we go, the beautiful part of being on Patreon is that we can ask our fanbase directly the way they want the game to go, and today is a day where that is of utmost importance.
Currently we have many ways tan can be applied, you can go to the beach, you can go to a tan saloon and use a tanning bed or spray tan, no problem! The problem is, how do you LOSE the tan?
We can make it "realistic" and make it so that every time you get tanned, it lasts for X amount of days, that's cool and all, but it removes a lot of decision from the player, currently with pubes you can just pick the size of the pubes in the bathroom which is unrealistic, but that's ultimately what people decided, so what now? What should we do regarding tan?
Our current "best option" is to ask the player if they want to apply/remove the tan every time you spend the day at the beach, but that is highly unrealistic, however it provides the player with the most decision power, so, the question is, how do you think tan should be applied and more importantly, removed?
All suggestions will be considered!

2017-11-28 08:27:17 +0000 UTCWell "how do you lose it" is quiet easily. Set it as a time based "buff" of sorts. Either let it wear down after 2 or 3 day's or so many moves on the map. Ofc. you could add an option to keep the tan forever or even start with it, albeit that would mean you need to work on 2 versions of some CG's. My suggestion actualy is that you do not change the CG's untill you finish the game. It could make a nice little bonus that every CG would have a tan version from it. The idea with the portion is nice too btw. but then i would love an option to start with it (japan is a sunny place after al)

2017-11-15 00:42:05 +0000 UTCI agree with this. Basically, the player has the choice when they want to remove the tan. I'm sure there are plenty of people that would love to have the tan most of the time they play and find it tedious to have to go through extra steps just to have it.

2017-11-14 19:01:23 +0000 UTCThe first thing that came to mind for me when looking at the situation is make it a routine thing. For example, she goes to the beach/tanning salon the first time. She is then asked (internally from herself at the beach/by an employee at the salon) if she would like it to be a routine thing. While it is a routine thing she goes every few days to get the tan touched up (without needing to notify the player). If you decide that you no longer want the tan revisit the place you are tanning at to cancel the routine object. After a few days she becomes fair skinned again. This gives the player optimal control over being able to have the tan last while still being realistic to a fading tan. Also, from a coding standpoint it is as simple as creating a routine variable that is active while doing touch ups. Apologies for the long post.

2017-11-14 16:38:42 +0000 UTCThe ability to apply 'whitening cream' or to use 'sun block' while at the beach. I think, for the most part, that players are going to have a particular interest to a color (tan or not) and will stick with it the entire game as, like pubes, it is a personal preference and once that preference is made and satisfied, they will stick with it throughout the game... Or, you can do it another route... do it where it comes up with a warning that once you've made your choice, it can't be undone... granted a bit extreme, but you have to reduce the opportunity of introducing game bugs as much as possible.

Events on the beach don't get you tanned, just literally laying on the beach and spending the day there (nothing to do with the H-scenes in the beach) makes you get tanned.
