A thought I had re: viv ability has been delayed as that her overall power were higher then catcher and cashe with them being the weaker links and that Shido prioritised the weaker members then viv. As aria and grant both got abilities before regular contact with Rei.

Not that I recall and Cashe is the least developed character in the series. Something I hope will eventually be rectified.

I think its more likely, if it is arsenal shift, that she gets to change between her normal duelist to two longer blades like some other duelist.

An external at an early stage, or even getting arsenal shift at this stage in her category, would be huge. With you saying it might be a brawler type of mode makes sense too with all your points.

That was another one of my topics. I’m wondering if Rei would even be allowed to finish his years at School. I could see him leaving sometime his second year and meet up with Christopher. Maybe Aria follows him too? Earlier in book 1 we had a small segment speaking of the future, which was 12 years or so from when Rei and Viv first started in Galens. That’d make everyone of Rei’s friends 30, Cashe being 32 along with Christopher. So we can at least see that the Archons beating them failed due to Rei and his allies or it was delayed.

I'm leaning against unique ability for Viv, but rather an even more impressive known to be late stages ability (Arsenal Shift) or evolution (External) in the C ranks. If AS then she'd shift into a wrist blade duelist/brawler hybrid weapon type. She already has high speed/cognition to approximate a brawler, has experience fighting high ranked brawlers (Rei and Benaly), hand to hand experience and talent (combat team), and the team will need a scout close in speed fighter if Rei shifts to another type.

Yeah, hoping Viv gets a good upgrade when the time comes! Your point about Shido strengthening others so they can strengthen Rei in the future is a very cool idea, ty for posting

I was thinking earlier today on why Viv never acquired an ability during her last evolution. Either, Shido knew her CAD wasn't meant to have an ability by this point. Or an odd theory of mines. Shido itself stopped her CAD from gaining the ability. My theory of this is due to us knowing Shido is assisting other CADs in their growth, so Rei would have more potentially stronger variables in the future. So why would the idea of Shido possibly stopping a CAD from developing an ability early be impossible? It could in theory give Viv a better ability, I dare say a unique ability if that's possible. Shido already seen what occurs to CAD's that get it's support, as seen with Cashe and Catcher. So, I wouldn't be surprised if it's testing out it's own theory on how the CAD's user's mentality effects it's future ability. I can definitely see Viv striving to gain an ability back at Galens to "Catch up". Which could give a different outcome than the one we seen from an unexpected ability unlock. (again referring to Cashe and Catcher) Anyways on with Rei, there's so much I'm looking forward to with what we learned about him and his CAD during Sectionals. - He can grow faster by fighting without Shido called. (I wonder if Galens would even allow him to do such, but I don't really see any particular reason other than it not being the norm.) - He'll be having private training assistance from Bretz and I believe Takeshi if I remember correctly, along with his squad mates. If he can train with them without Shido called at most times. That'd be huge for him, unless he really starts training harder to get adjusted to his new Saber and Phalanx modes. Him training with the other sub-instructors, for the potential of gaining the other 4 CAD types isn't impossible either. - Him boosting abilities is really a huge thing. Based off this, we could see a future Galens growing further in popularity, possibly rivaling the schools back on Earth. It's just anywhere he goes from now in the future he will leave a huge impact in that area. Especially when Shido becomes sentient, This could be OP, but he could communicate with Shido and together he could just pick and choose who, and how a CAD evolves. (This is more of a fan boy theory I guess though. We wouldn't see something like this ever or at least for a loooong time. Anyways that was a little bit of what I'd like to talk about. We need a Discord server for this series. The discussions I'd love to have about it!
