Over the holidays I sat on some feedback I got from several people here and on Reddit, and I decided Chapter 40 did indeed need a major tweak, or I'd be missing out on an important chance to continue to solidify a significant relationship in the story that hasn't gotten as much attention this book as I'd like.
For that reason, Chapter 40 has be reworked with that change, so enjoy a reread if you're into that kind of thing! If not, it doesn't change anything moving forward, so you can wait for a minor surprise when the final book drops!
(And, as an apology for the false hope this post will send through many, a very small sneak peek of Chapter 41, wich I hope to have out Friday!)

2023-01-10 13:18:39 +0000 UTCHonestly liked the original version better. It showed that Aria was willing to get angry for Rei and that even she had a line. I feel like replacing her with Viv cheapens the interaction in the moment and just falls back on the tried and tested.

I liked the "intimacy" of Aria and Rei in the scene (I ship them very hard :D). Anyway, please no harem ahhaha.

The sheer anger does fit Viv more I agree with the blowup, though after everything that's been done to Rei plus what Aria just had to witness firsthand I could see her being angry enough to fly off the handle like that. Excited to see what Aria's evolution ends up being. I'm not surprised after that last fight really.

2023-01-04 03:06:05 +0000 UTCSince I'm a "Viv" hater, my view is biased. Having Viv in the dialogue takes away some of the intimacy between Rei and Aria. Having Aria stand up for him in addition to her "bringing" Rei out of his nightmare added more depth to their relationship.
