Reacting To Young Royals Season 2 - Episode 3

Good evening beautiful people,

Hope you enjoy this next Episode of the Young Royals reactions. I got a new light to film with so it'll hopefully give me a bigger window to film rather than relying on the natural light through the winter.

Love, always <3

Reacting To Young Royals Season 2 - Episode 3

Comments

i know that it’s now been a long time since these seasons came out.. so youve probably already found the links to the music. the spotify young royals soundtrack is linked here.. and the song in this episode you asked about is “lonely ones.” https://open.spotify.com/playlist/37i9dQZF1DX0MEwcNgXyz3?si=x3h31yR8RDaSUyP2R6iXCw. there was also an interview you reacted to where edvin spoke about a “WILHELM Playlist” which he uses to get into character. he linked to the playlist which can be found here.. https://open.spotify.com/playlist/33agrRcJDKTAZtys8d5t27?si=2U5v5RLCQca-skZpTgAwiw

There’s actually a nice, short video on YouTube of Lova reacting to the section of the episode featuring her song. It’s heartbreakingly appropriate for Wilhelm at that moment, too.

"This is only going to end in tears, probably mine". Me too babes, me too. I hate that I kinda like Sarah and August together. She brings out a softer side to him. It does say a lot about Malte's acting that he can elicit such conflicting emotions from me for his character. YAY for Henry being a cockblock and inadvertently stopping what was going on between Wille and Felice. The parallels in this scene to season 1 made me think that Wille is just trying to feel SOMETHING other than hurt. Everything from the way the scene was shot, the "hold me", Wille's hand exploring.....it's all so similar to the first time Wille and Simon are intimate together. The writers for the show are so dang good - I both love and curse them for it! ❤️

Bekki Babineau

Yeah, I totally agree with you and I am impressed by Malte this season. Something tells me that the leopard doesn’t change its spots, though and August is so consumed by a lust for power and jealousy of Wilhelm that I can’t believe that he is reformed. Good to get some layers to the character, though.

Graham & Ruth May

Me too. That one especially. ❤️🫠

Someone has pointed out how different August looks around Sara. The tough head-of-house look is totally gone. We still hate August but Malte is a damn good actor!

Dennis Verner

100% agree with everything you just said.

What Markus did was textbook manipulation and then followed up by not just going to 'support' Simon but basically showing ownership by kissing him. Yea I am not here for any of that. August on the other hand seems to actually care about Sara, there does seem to be genuine feelings there. He is still an ass but I feel like there isn't anything he can do to really make it up to Wilhelm and Simon other than by leaving both of them alone which is what he is doing. I really want to know more about what made him this way though because his family life sounds so dysfunctional. Nothing excuses what he did but they are giving him layers.

Rosie Dickinson

omg thank god I wasn’t the only one who felt weird about Markus manipulating Simon. i haven’t been able to stop thinking about it!

Jackie-Ross Lavender

I so totally agree with everyone about Markus, he is totally manipulating, I mean, what did Simon’s dad have to do with the conversation? Absolutely nothing, that’s what. Emotional blackmail at its very best, Simon doesn’t want to actually be with him, between his friends pushing him towards Markus and Markus not letting him break up with him he seems to be stuck in this hole 🙁 I think Sara genuinely likes August despite knowing it was him that fucked up her brothers life when he leaked the video and it is nice to see her happy, I’m just not sure about it being with him. I’m not even going to speak about the ‘back up’ plan, I mean seriously, the one person who ruined the reigning Crown Princes life is the next in line to take over 😡 I love that song that Omar wrote for the choir song, I have it constantly playing on my Spotify along with all of Omar’s other songs, I am slightly obsessed with them at the moment ❤️

In fact, this episode is so painful to watch that I haven’t re-watched it with you yet. 🥺 Maybe after the finale. But I recall it all too well and agree with Ivalani and Ingrid. Markus is a master manipulator and I had a sense of that even in episode one when he more or less invites himself into Simon’s room, invading his personal space and in the next breath is inviting him out. The emotional blackmail he uses here and the fact that he isn’t really listening to Simon at all and hasn’t done since the beginning makes watching them together very uncomfortable. Simon’s face registers many emotions, but mostly, how uncomfortable he feels himself about it. I fully admit to being utterly biased against him and in favour of Wilhelm but come on, who isn’t? 😏 In many ways, I think this episode is the worst in terms of the sheer turmoil and the apparent lack of hope. It wouldn’t be Young Royals otherwise, would it!

Graham & Ruth May

Yes... You don't want to destroy something that beautiful... I was like... What? It was a whole sequence of feeling weird about the things he was saying... And It was a whole sequence of feeling sad (but hopeful) about Wille getting in touch with his feelings...

Ingrid Machado Pena

I'm sorry but Marcus is the worst. Simon came to break things off with him and he manipulated him like a pro. Like where the hell did that mention of Simon's dad and having no good role models for good relationships come from? And saying that he knows Simon doesn't want to destroy something that beautiful between them... Like, calm down, you've only been on 1 date so far. Also, you say you'll respect Simon's wishes and take things slow then you kiss him in front of the entire school (and Wille), Simon's body language was all wrong, he was so uncomfortable. The more I rewatch, the more I hate Marcus. That gentleman sitting at the dining room table is the house master, so just another staff member. He's basically letting the seniors do what they want. This episode was definitely the hardest one to watch this season, things will start looking up already in the next episode.

Ivalani

First of all, yes the lighting looks really good, so that’s one less thing for you to worry about. And yes, as someone else has noted, a lot of people have seen Marcus‘s conversation with Simon as being manipulative, even though he makes it sound reasonable and caring. And I may have said this in comments before, but they are giving a bit more depth to August so that not everything he does is quite as awful (which is not to say he doesn’t do plenty that is awful). The Queen’s plans for August were a shock to everybody, I think, including him. And of course, I’m glad for any opportunity to hear Omar sing.

Lane Wright

Hey! Great reaction as always! I thought Marcus was manipulative bringing the whole daddy thing into the conversation... The song's name is The Lonely Ones - Lova. And about the last scene is a big NO but, at the same time, Wille is just trying to feel anything other than pain... He is trying to recreate his moment with Simon... Same thing Simon did in ep 2. We have to keep in mind how young they are... It's really painful to watch...

Ingrid Machado Pena

Thanks for yet another great reaction. If you change the subtitles into „English CC” it’ll show you the song names plus the artist and even the lyrics. 😉
