According to tradition, exposing your opponent is sort of like gloating, or even a sign of disrespect. When you strip someone else, you just put a bigger target on your own back (or chest in this case). Kali, The Bully, apparently feels so confident that she doesn't care!
Chiyo knew it was dangerous to sign away her photo rights for the day. Still, she figured she was getting paid and the event benefitted the homeless—if anyone saw anything, it would be kind of like posing for a charity calendar, right? The timid grad student decided she'd try to be spontaneous for a day... but she didn't realize quite how "spontaneous" things would get, particularly after photos of her with #CarrotTopless begin spreading across campus. The photos capture her face clearly, blushing in a moment of confusion and apparent humiliation.
In the middle of #CarrotTopless, Chiyo's sister Akari, a junior undergrad at the same school, comes over to comfort her. Akari says Grapple Day is run by pigs and one day she'll get revenge. Chiyo thanks Akari but just asks her to drop the subject. She's too embarrassed to admit the truth: that she finds the whole hubbub of thrilling and doesn't regret a thing.
