Last Year's Grapple Day
I said Kali looked strong before the tournament started today, and the first match seemed to prove that her confidence wasn't misplaced. She easily dispatched her first opponent. Pictured above is the moment Kali notched her first point. She trapped her opponent in a chokehold and yanked her fishnet tights up until she finally submitted—if you want to get technical, I believe the proper term for that is a "cheesegrater wedgie."
And with that, Kali earned her nickname for the tournament this year: The Bully. The Bully could prove to be a formidable competitor this year. . . but I'm still not convinced she can take on Sam.
