Bad Ideas release plan!

SO much has been happening for my song 'Crush' this summer! I was featured as YouTube's Artist on the Rise and Facebook Artist of the Day, featured on Apple Radio, on Spotify's New Music Friday and Young & Freeplaylists, and I got to do a Genius Verified for the song itself!!
Behind the scenes, after eleven long years, I've finally signed with a manager I feel really excited about. It's been a summer of dreams come true, and it wouldn't have happened without your support of the project starting back in May.
It's been so helpful to have the expertise of some music industry veterans. One of the things that's been pointed out to me is that, although I am an album-artist, this is a single industry. How to market an entire album to a majority of listeners who are overwhelmed by the length of an album, and more likely to listen to one song at a time - while still staying true to the integrity and storytelling of the project Bad Ideas ???
Here's my plan. I will be releasing the album one song at a time over the next year and a half, split into three EPs: Bad Ideas ACT I, ACT II, and ACT III. My hope is that in spreading out the story, I'll also have more budget and time to do a music video for every song! also I'm very eager for the time this will allow for each song. :)
For all patrons who have given $12 or more for one month (the album pre-order tier!)- We'll be emailing you as the songs come out with a high quality download - starting with 'Crush', (which you should have already received, but for good measure we're sending out that link again). If you start giving at the $12 tier once some songs have already come out, you'll be added to the mailing list to receive all the new songs in addition to a link to get you all caught up with everything that's come out so far! As always, you only need to be a billed for this tier once to be added to the mailing list to receive the entire album as the songs come out. That said, I know the initial expectation was to have the album by the end of summer. If you're not happy, my team will take care of a refund!

EDIT: update YES! after the three EPs Bad Ideas will be released as a full album with two additional songs (the prelude and interlude)

But from an artist point of view, and don't get us wring, we want to release everything asap - this might just be a better way to market it and to get a buzz going which then allows for more opportunities in the long run than just getting it out there and that's it. This way every song, or EP part gets it's full attention and grows on you even more. Right Tessa?

A three part story! Very into this. Also mega excited for some tshirts along the way. Keep up the good and hard work. Oh! Also playing Crush to everyone I can and the boyfriend has added it to his car playlist. (He was helping take down my craft fair stall while I snuck out to come see you at sitc cause he knows how much I like supporting you. What a CRUSH am I right??)

2018-08-25 01:51:57 +0000 UTCtotally fair to feel disappointed about a longer run time, I set an expectation and am changing it, and I want to validate that! and too you are right, I have more information now than I did at than beginning of the summer, I know now putting out an album in September as a (relatively) unknown artist squanders an amazing opportunity to get my music out there. The album is definitely written to be consumed in order, but for me it still works being spread out because it will still be in order. ANYWAY that's a lot of text, quick summary: totally get the feelings, happy to refund if you want it! Hope you understand this is the wiser choice and for what it's worth: I'm really excited about the new release plan. It feels like treading in to new territory, a whole album one song at a time is not something I've seen before and i'm excited about it :)

Selfishly I wanted the whole album, as I assume it was designed/constructed be consumed as a single piece of art rather than piece meal over a year and a half. And feel like this is what we were all contributing towards/supporting you in doing. From a professional point of view, if that's going to be best for growing your audience/get expose/get noticed by the industry/generate revenue. I guess I can understand that.
